The oceans roared her head to instil fear
There was something in me that left me to tear
The tempest was so loud that I felt I couldn't bear
The confidence in me just took a break as I was smeared
I stayed under for a long time due to fear
I felt helpless and overpowered as the water rolled over me
I was hoping for a miracle but nothing came
How could it have come when I was looking without rather than within
I knew at that moment I was alone and there was no one to help
There was no amount of screams I can give, not even a loud yelp
I was drowning in my emotions of fear and lack of confidence
I was ready to give up on life's sentence
Still, I rose after the ocean tossed me and I saw the light
There was a strong desire in me to give it one more fight
I am not a victim and I stopped feeling like one
I fought the tempest and rose above the tide
Let the ocean roar I will still be standing
Let the water pour over I would still be landing
As they say it in sports, I will still be balling
Regardless of what life throws at me as long as I look within
