Rusty Cage

I sit here trapped inside this rusty cage
This body getting older and quite colder
Time takes it's toll.. no longer teenage
The fires of youth set to slow smolder

People often say you get wiser with age
That's bullshit, some pure propaganda vibe
Spread to make the old quell their rampage
I don't fucking buy it, I don't subscribe

When you get some decades behind you
You begin to see life's cruel tricks
The view is askew, masked in mildew
Doctor can you give us another fix?

Everyday is another lesson in pain
Everyone is dead, you're crying rain
Brain is drained, you're no longer sane
Your mind and body has taken the train

No longer living in a sound garden
Father time is our personal warden
The war forever rages on I beg your pardon
All we can do is not let our hearts harden
