Breathless

Breathless

Through the Gates it shone,
A dimming into the night
Until at last it's gone
No more life, no more fight.

Nothing more can it carry,
No weight it can bear
To the Otherside it will ferry,
None will meet us there.

The last task completed,
All tools put neatly away
The last breath depleted,
To leave the final fray.

Reaching with cold fingers
Touching what isn't there,
Grasping at the Last images
Before falling to despair.

There is no turning backward
Once past the last threshold,
Only downward and onward,
Collapsed into the folds.

With the stars straight above
And eternity to the sides,
Into the forever love
The first of endless strides.

I see that you often think about the meaning of life. You are a fighter, you constantly fight, all this is not in vain. And believe me, there is something beyond the line.

Even if there is nothing past the end, isn't it better to have lived a life with purpose?

Certainly. In both cases, one should live meaningfully.

If you mean after death, yeah we will carry nothing to "there"

Perhaps it requires us getting rid of our baggage in life.

Certainly, but our baggage gets heavier as the years pass by.

Well, damn! The man can write poetry too, and a very good one indeed. I actually felt it straight in the heart.

I dabble in many forms, because they all have a purpose for something and help give a more rounded reflection

With the stars straight above
And eternity to the sides,
Into the forever love
The first of endless strides.

Dear @tarazkp !

I assumed that you expressed the last moments of your life in poetry!
In the last moments of all life, their breathing becomes heavy!

What kind of life do you believe you have lived so far?

I wonder what the last thing you want to leave behind in your life is!

I hope you understand my awkward English! 🙂

What kind of life do you believe you have lived so far?

A life where O haven't lived up to close to my potential. I should have done better.

I find your life and literary works interesting and wonderful!
I think your life has more success and value than you think!

Those you helped will remember you!😃

Really interesting take on ones final moments. And while the end might imply relief of no longer needing to struggle with everyday, i also find this poem sad at the same time.

They say that life should be a celebration, yet, what exactly are we celebrating?

Nothing can bring back the final moments of someone demise. Once the breath has been taken, nothing more could be done. Whatever it is, we have the capacity and power to do now. When we still have the breath, we should hesitate as tomorrow isn't promised.

All the lines are full of different kinds of imagery and metaphorical expressions. I enjoy reading.

Do when there is breath in the body, because once that last one is gone nothing more can be done.

Yes, I agree. Powerful lines, may I ask what motivate you in writing this.

Beautiful words. I hope I am remembered when I am gone, but I've got much more work to do to make that true.

It is about resolution. Zoom out far enough - we are all forgotten.

I try not to worry about those kind of things considering I will not have children. I just need to be really really funny for my nieces and nephews.

Very interesting poem! A very philosophical and spiritual approach to it! Thanks for sharing this poem here on HIVE! All the best, plenty of success here in this community and on HIVE in general!

Thanks :)

You're most welcome! I also like poetry a lot and I wrote some poems myself in the past. Perhaps I should publish some more of them here on HIVE as soon as possible. HIVE is also a great community for receiving poetry, a very valuable aspect for which I am tremendously grateful! Best regards! 🙂

Hmmmmm! This is deep, the thought of passing through that gate is what I don't like having but however it is, the gate is where we all must past through and once we enter that gate, no turning back.

Hmm
Death is the last activity or last thing that will happen to human
I hope we all die peacefully

This speaks to me of the thoughts of the still living, in the moments after a loved one has passed. It's an excellent poem, perhaps my favorite of all the poems of yours that I have read, and has left me in tears.

I really like this eternal poem of loving and growing Mr. Taraz.

We long so much but it's like in the search of a dream to keep on living, it's the best way to face the reality that always overcomes and defeats fiction.

Greetings to you Mr. Taraz 🍁

Part of this poem is about what I just experienced this Saturday and what I thought would be the last days of my life. I wanted to express it in a publication in the Reflection community but now I can write.
Anyway, there is a poetic genius beyond the relationship with death that you can see in it.
From a literary point of view it seems to me a good poetry and it uses very well different literary resources. Congratulations. Happy week. Cheers and greetings.

This felt dark. At least it felt that way in the beginning. But it slowly turned a bit hopeful in the end. To some, death is just the beginning of a new journey.

Hmmm oh that faithful day my grandma layed breathless and I began to cry with no consolation ,but did my tears bring her back? no ,the reality of life set in and no one that actually help at the moment because we are wired to cross that path someday

If we die,we won't carry anything.

Such a creative poem
