Without A Shadow

No doubt comes to mind,
Unknow mercy or another Crime.
The sun shines blind but bright,
No shadow when the target's light.

Cast aside, but don't you hide,
Speak from the chest, not the side,
Run into and not from the fires,
Through the trenches despite desires.

Stare at the sun and see clear,
Burn away the last and final fear,
Break away from the grasping thoughts,
Of masses succumbed to social courts.

Bear the brunt of forces greater,
Than any wound from any traitor.
Be the shield and sharpened blade,
Consuming until all debts are paid.

Walk away and eternity find,
With the destruction left far behind.
Kings and Queens lay down deposed,
All that stands are long shadows.

Indeed, we should stop caring what others say about what we do, think, say... Thus we can find our own path.

And stand for our values, no matter what is done to us.

A beautiful poem with deep meaning. It takes courage to achieve freedom. Someone who wants to remain captive may act cowardly. To reach our true self, we must shatter social pressures. :)

I think we are captives whenever we follow the crowd.

It feels like a reminder that the only way forward is to face hard times, not avoid them. The ending with shadows left behind gave me hope. It shows that after struggle, there is still a way to find peace and strength.

The ending with shadows left behind gave me hope.

Or those left behind are in darkness.

Bear the brunt of forces greater,
Than any wound from any traitor.
Be the shield and sharpened blade,
Consuming until all debts are paid.

Dear @tarazkp !
I guess you were betrayed by those you trusted!

I saw the news that racism is spreading in Europe right now!

The world I live in is fighting against class discrimination caused by the gap between rich and poor.

The whole world is at war right now!

I assumed you immigrated to Europe because of racism in Australia!😯

I guess you were betrayed by those you trusted!

Nope.

I assumed you immigrated to Europe because of racism in Australia!

Why would you assume that?

I haven't lived in Australia for over 22 years. I haven't even been back on holiday since 2008. But, for anyone who might be following the many neo-Nazi led racist marches around Australia about white purity and preserving Australian culture diatribe, it comes as no surprise to me. Because despite for decades Australia being positioned as a multicultural and welcoming place, that wasn't my experience much of the time. Not all of the time, because there are a mass of great people there. But, like all around the world today, the outspoken minority controls the narrative.

I remember you saying your parents immigrated to Australia from the Indian subcontinent! You said you experienced racial discrimination during your childhood.

You make lots of incorrect assumptions. I know you have some health issues, but perhaps you should get out and live life a bit more.

Dear @tarazkp !
I hope you understand that my English skills are at the level of an American elementary school student!😂

I'm left with a notion of a regular joe, trying to get through a tough time with the law. He prevailed by speaking truly, by living true to himself. At the end of his life, he sees everything in shadow and wonders if any of it happened at all, or if it had to.

A very impactful exposition hinting on the wounds and shadows to be worked on, erasing the social pressure and walk in true freedom. Thanks for dishing this out.

I am struck by the powerful and defiant tone of this poem. It's a call to confront life head-on, to embrace difficult truths, and to face challenges without fear or hesitation. I am especially moved by the imagery of walking "without a shadow," which suggests a state of being fully present, unburdened by past regrets or future anxieties.

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem with us. After reading the poem, I felt that the metaphor of light and darkness has been used to highlight the fear, conflict and struggle within people. I cannot fail to mention a line from the poem, such as Run into and not from the fires. This line is very inspiring to me.
