Awesome! Japan, being so mountainous, has some nice geologic features. Enoshima is cool to look at, especially the caves on the backside. There is a rock shop on the island too! I'd be happy to send your son a small set of minerals. I have lots of small pieces just lying around, but they would be good, rare material to keep that fire burning in him/her.
