Hello Everyone:

Today, we will visit together the Selimiye Foundation Museum in Edirne, a city in the west of Turkey, which has a room of metal works, tile works, antique clocks, calligraphy and wooden works.

First of all, we visited the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne, which has a history of 448 years and is on the UNESCO list. Our friends who have not reviewed can visit my post by clicking on the link below.

The other day, I shared with you the historical Arasta Bazaar, which is 256 meters long and has 124 stores. Our friends who have not reviewed can visit my post by clicking the link below.

This is the Selimiye Foundation Museum and was used as a madrasah (education) area for many years during the Ottoman Period. As you can understand from its name, Selimiye Foundation Museum is located in the southwestern corner of Selimiye Mosque. Its first name is Dar'ül Kurra Madrasa. It was restored in 2007 and turned into a foundation museum.

I would like to give some information for our friends who want to visit here.

  • Visiting Days: Other days except Monday are open to visitors.

  • Visiting Hours: Summer - Winter 09:00-17:00

  • Fee: Free

I will share with you some information about the rooms I visited in the museum below and the photos I took.
