Today I would like to take you on a short tour of Aarau and show you some nice impressions. The city is located northeast of Bern, southeast of Basel and west of Zurich. This tower was built in the 13th century and in the 16th century it was extended with three floors to a residential and watchtower.
A special attraction are the more than 70 richly painted roof views, in the old town.
The Carrot Market, also known as the most beautiful market of the year, takes place every year on the first Wednesday in November,here a picture from last year.
In summer it was the most beautiful and biggest festival for youth and kids, an inspiration for over 400 years. Flower decorations on around 25 fountains and objects completed the beautiful parade.
The young Albert Einstein laid the first stone for his physics studies at the cantonal school in Aarau. The world-famous physicist, researcher and creator of the theory of relativity, the Nobel Prize winner Einstein, the genius of science par excellence finished his high school graduation here in 1896 with five times the highest marks in Switzerland, the 6th.
Aarau has its own cloud over the bus station.
The clock in Aarau rail station has 9 meters diameter. Only the clock at the train station Cergy - Saint-Christophe is with ten meters the biggest in Europe.
An architectural combo of an old tower and a modern annex. The facade of the new building shows 134 reliefs by the sculptor Josef Felix Müller.
The "Pont Neuf" bridge will cross here the Aare river.
