I continue to show you some aspects of Venice not so well known to tourists who limit their visits to the canals and St. Mark's Square.
I already told you about the historic square known worldwide in this post.
All the images are from the year 2015 when I was still living in Italy and, despite my long years in the Italian peninsula, it was still one of the few important cities that I did not know.
I wanted to know Venice and its surroundings including its classic Carnaval, one of the most lavish and historical in the world with its famous masks.

Todas las imágenes son del año 2015 cuando todavía residía en Italia y, a pesar, de mis largos años de permanencia en la península itálica era aún una de las pocas ciudades importantes que no conocía.
Quise conocer Venecia y alrededores incluyendo su clásico Carnival, uno de los más fastuosos e históricos del mundo con sus célebres máscaras.
4.- Correr Museum. /Museo Correr.

The Correr Museum, named after its founder, the Venetian nobleman Teodoro Correr, is one of the most important and representative museums in Venice.
Located in Piazza San Marco, it shows, in the different sections and in the varied and rich collections, the art, civilization and history of Venice.

El Museo Correr, que toma el nombre de su fundador el noble veneciano Teodoro Correr, es uno de los museos más importantes y representativos de Venecia.
Ubicado en la Plaza San Marco muestra, en las distintas secciones y en las variadas y ricas colecciones, el arte, la civilización y la historia de Venecia.

The Correr Museum, created in 1830 after the death of Teodoro Correr, is one of the most important institutions in the world for the study of Venetian graphics.
Inside it preserves 8,000 old drawings and more than 40,000 engravings from the 15th to the 19th centuries.

El Museo Correr creado en 1830 después del fallecimiento de Teodoro Correr es una de las instituciones más importantes del mundo para el estudio de la gráfica veneciana.
En su interior conserva 8.000 dibujos antiguos y más de 40.000 grabados de los siglos XV al XIX.

5.- The Rialto Bridge. / El Puente de Rialto.

The Rialto Bridge is one of the four bridges, along with the Accademia Bridge, the Scalzi Bridge and the Constitution Bridge, but due to its location and visibility it is undoubtedly the most famous of all, immortalized in millions and millions of photos and postcards around the world.
Together with the lion in Piazza San Marco, it is the living image of Venice.
Apart from being the most famous it is also the oldest.
The origin of the bridge dates back to the 12th century and was built on wooden poles.
The idea of replacing it with a stone bridge dates back to the beginning of the 15th century and it was finally finished and seen as it is today towards the end of the same century.

El puente de Rialto es uno de los cuatro puentes, junto con el puente de la Accademia, el puente Scalzi y el puente de la Constitución, pero por su ubicación y visibilidad es sin lugar a dudas el más famoso de todos, inmortalizado en millones y millones de fotos y postales en todo el mundo.
Es junto, con el león de la Plaza San Marco, la imagen viva de Venecia.
Aparte de ser el más famoso es también el más antiguo.
El origen del puente se remonta al siglo XII y era construído en palos de madera.
La idea de substituirlo por un puente de piedra es de inicios del siglo XV y es finalmente terminado y visto como es en la actualidad hacia fines del mismo siglo.

6.- Rezzonico Museum. / Museo Rezzonico -Ca' Rezzonico-

Ca 'Rezzonico is one of the most famous palaces in Venice, facing the Grand Canal.
Ca 'Rezzonico was built in the 17th century
In the 18th century, its most illustrious resident was Pope Clement XIII.
Ca 'Rezzonico houses the Museo del Settecento Veneziano, a three-story exhibition space
Compared to the Palazzo Ducale, it can be said that it is smaller and more sober.
Before entering, we will find a gondola with felze (covered gondola, to protect it from the cold and rain), while on the second floor we will find a small old pharmacy.

Ca 'Rezzonico es uno de los palacios más famosos de Venecia, de frente al Gran Canal.
Ca 'Rezzonico fue construido en el siglo XVII.
En el siglo XVIII, su residente más ilustre, fue el Papa Clemente XIII.
Ca 'Rezzonico alberga el Museo del Settecento Veneziano, un espacio expositivo de tres pisos
Comparado con el Palazzo Ducale, se puede decir que es más pequeño y más sobrio.
Antes de entrar, encontraremos una góndola con felze (góndola cubierta, para protegerla del frío y la lluvia), mientras que en el segundo piso encontraremos una pequeña farmacia antigua.

7.- Basilica of Santa Maria dei Frari. / Basílica de Santa Maria dei Frari.
The Basilica dei Frari is the largest of the churches in Venice.
Es basilica desde el año 1926 during el papado de Pius XI.
It is the only Italian church of aquellas considered as important that it has a great choir roded for a high wall at the end of the central nave frente al altar mayor, following the classic medieval use.
La Basilica dei Frari, è la più grande delle chiese di Venezia.
Es basilica desde el año 1926 durante el papado de Pio XI.
Es la única iglesia italiana de aquellas consideradas como importantes que ha logrado conservar un gran coro rodeado por un alto muro al final de la nave central frente al altar mayor, según el clásico uso medieval.
8.- Mocenigo Palace. / Palacio Mocenigo - Palazzo Mocenigo -
Palacio Mocenigo is an elegant building that houses the Museum of the same name.
This building, which already existed in the 16th century, is, in its current characteristics, of 17th century imprint, as a result of the renovation works that the Mocenigo family carried out in the palace at the beginning of the 17th century.
It was in 1945 when the last member of the family, Alvise Nicolò Mocenigo, donated the building to the Municipality of Venice, which became an art gallery.
El Palacio Mocenigo es un elegante edificio sede del Museo que lleva el mismo nombre.
Este edificio que ya existía en el siglo XVI, es, en sus características actuales, de impronta del siglo XVII, resultado de las obras de renovación que la familia Mocenigo llevó a cabo en el palacio a principios del siglo XVII.
Fue en 1945 cuando el último miembro de la familia, Alvise Nicolò Mocenigo, donó el edificio al municipio de Venecia, que se convirtió en una galería de arte.
