ANTS, FLOWERS, AND THE VILLAGE CALLED TOMISHICHI

in Pinmapple2 years ago

The day was, and still is, gray and cloudy. It looked like the rain is very near ...

... when I stopped in the place where a small country lane branches from the main road that leads to the town called Zminj and further north. I parked the car at the side of the road and took a walk across the meadow.

I was surrounded by flowers the whole time. Here you can see a group of daisies (Bellis perennis).

img_5513_malo.jpg

Common dandelions (Taraxacum officinale) were also present in big numbers.

img_5515_malo.jpg

A bit further in the area with slightly taller grass that wasn't recently cut ...

img_5514_malo.jpg

... I came across a different kind of yellow flowers.

img_5520_samomalo.jpg

This is the Potentilla heptaphylla flower.

I took another shot here and then continued ...

... to the shrubs and trees at the edge of the meadow.

img_5485_malo.jpg

Here I stopped to photograph another small, herbaceous plant ...

... the Noccaea praecox.

img_5506_malo.jpg

Here you can take a macro look at the small flowers of this plant.

Down on the leaf litter ...

... the ants were transporting minuscule carcasses. This ant is holding a dead cockroach.

Here you can see the ant transporting the remains of a pill bug.

Patches of lichens were also present on the carped made of fallen leaves.

img_5502_samomalo.jpg

Their coral-like structure looked pretty cool.

Especially when seen through the macro lens.

The light was pretty low down on the ground under the trees, so I used flash for most of the photographs. But the lichens didn't look very good when photographed that way, so I decided to take a couple of long exposure shots to show them in the ambient light.

After a few more shots focused on the Noccaea praecox plant ...

... I left the meadow ...

... and walked a couple of hundred meters to the nearby village ...

(Enlargeable)

... that goes by the name of Tomishichi.

This religious memorial or some kind of small temple is pretty unique and hard to define. It was erected or paid for by a man called Anton Tomishic, in 1914. I didn't have to search for this information on the Internet for a change. It was right there, engraved in the stone. Like many small villages in this area, Tomisichi shares the name with the family name of the people that settled in this place long ago and established the village.

img_5526_malo.jpg

This small dog was watching me from the balcony of the nearby house.

img_5533_samomalo.jpg

A transport-related company that just like the village goes by the name Tomishich is situated on the outskirts of Tomisichi, so is no wonder that I saw an unusual number of various trucks for a place like this.

img_5530_malo.jpg

At one point, while photographing this minimalist composition ...

img_5531_malo.jpg

... a tractor passed through the scene.

img_5534_malo.jpg

Here you can see the "Photoshop invert" version of the same minimalist thing.

After photographing this Virgin Mary action figure ...

img_5538_malo.jpg

... incorporated in the garden wall ...

img_5528_malo.jpg

... and waving goodbye to the dog, I walked to the car and drove directly home.

AND THAT'S IT. AS ALWAYS IN THESE POSTS ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK - THE END.

The dog photo in the window is a nice one. It almost looks like a garden ornament standing next to the flower pots lol.

True 😀It's a highly ornamental dog. Like those ornamental garden gnomes and stuff like that.

Yes thats exactly what I was thinking lol

I wonder why?? The flower tucked into the grass looks really good to my eyes

photography of very beautiful scenery and greenery, this is a very beautiful uniqueness in your photography.
thank you for sharing friends

Your trip looks very exciting and fun, my friend, you get a lot of beautiful flowers and show us, and I have never seen those beautiful flowers before, and the ants are also very wild, where I am all called "Sidom Apui", if biting us it will be very dangerous and painful even though it is not poisonous

the little dog has beautiful fur, the first time I saw it I thought it was just a dog statue.

it's always nice to see your random photography every day.

We had a good rain here yesterday. You have shared some flower and insect photography which is very nice to look at. The Noccaea praecox plant flower is beautifully scattered. All the flowers and the elements of nature look really amazing.

I really like the posts sometimes arise in my mind with so many panoramas you share in your one post I really like it.Are all the posts that you shared on your trip exist?

Ants pictures ard amazing, they look so huge and also can carry more than 10 times their weight. beautiful potentilla yellow flower
