Hotel Termal - Fisheye Lens Photography

in Pinmapple3 years ago

Hi there 🌼

I hope you're doing great.

This abandoned building deserves all the photos in the world and for everyone to know it. It's an abandoned hotel in my hometown that was built during the dictatorship of Juan Vicente Gómez in the 1920s. For me, touching those walls or being inside (even though it's in ruins) is like touching a very important piece from the history of my city and my country.

I only had 15 seconds available, my phone, and a fisheye lens to capture as much of the facade as I could from a moving car and in the pouring rain. This is my favorite place in the whole city and I'd love to see it restored, but so far it has been impossible. The first photoshoots I ever did in my life, I did there. My grandmother even told me that her graduation party was held there and that it used to be a very luxurious and dazzling place where the most important people of the time stayed and gathered.
