Hi everyone,
I am lucky enough to live in an Italian city where nothing is missing: Bologna.
It is a medium-sized city where there are all the services a person may need such as public transport, universities, business opportunities and shopping.
Another interesting aspect is linked to the liveliness of the city, with its thousands of initiatives in the cultural, artistic and cinematographic fields, but also in the field of active citizenship, volunteering, ...
But the reasons why I like living in Bologna don't end there! In fact, another fundamental thing is the large number of parks, which are the green lung of the city, and the proximity to naturalistic places where you can relax and enjoy the beauties of the Apennines between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna.
A few minutes by car you can reach the Colli Bolognesi, that is the hills that surround the territory of Bologna and which offer km and km of walks immersed in nature. Here and there, moreover, several rivers flow and there are also some thermal springs.
Today I went to one of the rivers near Bologna, called Santerno, to have a picnic and relax by getting away from the sultry heat of the city.
It is a little known location, in fact it was just us and two other people who were fishing, as the area is also used for fishing.
Near the riverbank there is a small kiosk where you can stock up on piadine (typical Italian bread), beers, ice creams etc! I like the bay very much because it is equipped with tables made from natural elements such as stones and tree trunks and there is also a space to be able to light the fire in total safety. In short, everything you need to spend a relaxing day in good company!
The water of the river is clear for bathing and in fact, walking you can see many small fish between your legs. The rocks are quite slippery so it's best to wear rock shoes. The water is always fresh because it flows directly from the rocks and, even in the hottest moment of the day, the sensation on the skin is that of total refreshment!
Above the river there is a particular type of bridge called Ponte Alidosi, which is characterized by the peculiar humpback shape. The bridge was titled a national monument due to its geographical and architectural importance.
I really enjoyed spending the day on the banks of this river. Having picnics surrounded by nature is always a very nice experience!

Ho la fortuna di abitare in una città italiana nella quale non manca proprio nulla: Bologna.
È una città di medie dimensioni nella quale vi sono tutti i servizi di cui una persona può avere bisogno come trasporti pubblici, università, possibilità di lavoro e shopping.
Un altro aspetto interessante è quello legato alla vivacità della città, con le sue mille iniziative in campo culturale, artistico e cinematografico, ma anche nel campo della cittadinanza attiva, del volontariato, ...
Ma i motivi per cui mi piace vivere a Bologna non finiscono qui! Infatti, un’altra cosa fondamentale è la grande quantità di parchi, che sono il polmone verde della città, e la vicinanza a luoghi naturalistici in cui è possibile rilassarsi e godere le bellezze dell’Appennino tra Toscana ed Emilia-Romagna.
A pochi minuti di auto è possibile raggiungere i Colli Bolognesi, ovvero le colline che circondano il territorio di Bologna e che offrono km e km di passeggiate immersi nella natura. Qua e là, inoltre, sgorgano diversi fiumi e c’è anche qualche sorgente termale.
Oggi mi sono recata in uno dei fiumi vicino Bologna, chiamato Santerno, per fare un picnic e rilassarci staccando dal caldo afoso della città.
Si tratta di una località poco conosciuta, infatti eravamo solo noi e altre due persone che pescavano, in quanto la zona è anche adibita alla pesca.
Nei pressi della riva del fiume si trova un piccolo chiosco dove è possibile rifornirsi di piadine, birre, gelati etc! La baia mi piace molto perché è attrezzata con dei tavoli ricavati da elementi naturali come pietre e tronchi d’albero e vi è anche uno spazio per poter accendere il fuoco in totale sicurezza. Insomma, tutto il necessario per passare una giornata rilassante in buona compagnia!
L’acqua del fiume è balneabile e limpida, infatti camminando è possibile vedere numerosi pesciolini tra le proprie gambe. Le rocce sono abbastanza scivolose quindi è meglio indossare delle scarpette da scoglio. L’acqua è sempre fresca perché sgorga direttamente dalle rocce e, anche nel momento più caldo della giornata, la sensazione sulla pelle è quella di totale rinfresco!
Al di sopra del fiume è presente un particolare tipo di ponte chiamato Ponte Alidosi, il quale si caratterizza per la peculiare forma a schiena d'asino. Il ponte è stato intitolato monumento nazionale a causa della sua importanza geografica e architettonica.
Mi è piaciuto molto passare la giornata sulle rive di questo fiume. Fare picnic immersi nella natura è sempre un’esperienza molto bella!
