❄️ Dear HIVE-Crew ❄️

This is PART 2 from our travel report to the Ski Jumping Training facilities of the Holmenkollen in Oslo. In case you missed the first part of the series, you can catch up HERE

Carlo wanted to give me a treat after I was brave enough to jump down the (Baby)Ramp. So he took me to the top of the Holmenkollen. And I'm telling you, it was spectacular!
You have to get up into some sort of lift. It feels a bit like the lifts that people use in mines. Only that it goes up in the air.

The view from the Holmenkollen is sensational. You can see the mountains, the sea and of course the city of Oslo.

If you ever travel to Oslo, this is a spot I would like to recommend to you. There were barely any tourists up there. Just a hand full of people who love so sport came here. So you can take your time, enjoy the view, the wind and the sun.

Carlo even made me go to the beam, where the ski jumpers are sitting before their departure. It really leaves you speechless how these eagles are simply jumping into the void. Over and over again. Training after Training. Competition after Competition.

In this photo you can see the arena below. Imagine sitting up there, ready to jump and the crowd is cheering for you. It must be a phenomenal feeling and extremely emotional.

I clearly wasn't ready to jump down there. But I must admit: I dreamed about it the next night.

When we were getting back down from the hill, it was already getting dark.

It's the magic hour for filmmakers. When the sky turns into an intense blue, the shadows become long and the light fades slowly.
We also call it Blue Hour. There are entire films that were exclusively shot in this time of day because the natural light is simply the most beautiful. The film director Terrence Malick became famous with this approach. He worked exclusively in the Blue Hour for his films Days of Heaven, The New World, and The Tree of Life.

We hope you enjoyed this little trip to the top of the Holmenkollen. It's a truly special place with a marvelous view. I highly recommend taking the local train to go up there for an afternoon.
❄️

Have a wonderful evening, my dear HIVE-Crew!

Yours,
Elena & Ale
