Agros and Its Roses – Visiting Chris N. Tsolakis’ Rose Farm

in Worldmappin2 months ago (edited)

Hey guys,

After telling you all about Agros water, it’s time to dive into another thing this village is famous for – roses! Agros is the heart of Cyprus’ Damask rose production, and I had the chance to visit one of the most well-known rose farms: Chris N. Tsolakis.

A Village That Smells Like Roses

The moment you step onto the farm, you’re hit with the most amazing floral scent. It’s everywhere! Rows of delicate pink roses stretch as far as you can see, and the whole process – from picking the flowers to making rose-based products – is still done by hand, following traditional methods.

From Petals to Products

I never realized how versatile roses can be! At the Tsolakis farm, they turn these fragrant blooms into:

  • Rose water – used in Cypriot cooking and skincare

  • Essential oils – pure, concentrated rose fragrance

  • Perfumes & soaps – the perfect souvenir

  • Rose-flavored sweets & liqueurs & wine

  • Rose Candles and more!

Of course, I had to taste-test some of them, and the rose water was a total surprise – super refreshing and even used in coffee and desserts. Also the wine and liquor was very delicious.

Tradition Meets Passion

What I loved most about this place? It’s all about passion and tradition. The Tsolakis family has been running the farm for generations, using old-school distillation techniques with no artificial additives – just pure roses.

If you’re ever in Agros, this is a must-visit spot. You can walk through the rose fields, see how the products are made, and bring home something special. Check out my photos to see the magic for yourself!
