Hello friends,

Yesterday, finally after a long time, I engaged in some physical activity to keep myself fit, and after many years, I decided to go for a walk along the cycle path that follows the course of the Martesana river. It is a route that connects Milan to Trezzo sull'Adda in the Lombardy region and stretches for about forty kilometers.

From my point of view, it is wonderful to walk in this place because we are practically near the Martesana Canal, a magnificent hydraulic work that was constructed back in the 1400s. It served the purpose of transporting goods and people along this stretch of the river to the city of Milan. Therefore, we can rightly define it as a remarkable hydraulic feat.

This route starts in Milan, near the Isola district, and as it follows the river's course, it traverses various landscapes, including fields, parks, and residential areas. Along the way, you can also admire some sites of historical interest, such as locks and mills, which bear witness to the ancient use of the river for industrial purposes.

The cycle path is well signposted and is kept in excellent condition with wide asphalted tracks and rest areas along the route. We can say that there are several opportunities to stop and relax.

In my opinion, the Martesana cycle path is a pleasant and sustainable way to discover the beauty of Lombardy's nature, and it was also a delightful way for me to enjoy the day outdoors. It is definitely a suitable route for everyone, including those who are not super fit; you just need to be a little careful with the bikes.

Along the way, as you can see from the photos I took, you can admire farmhouses and rural buildings that bear witness to the ancient agricultural tradition of the area, as well as a variety of flora that characterizes the Lombardy region.

For those living in the city of Milan, the cycle path is an excellent option to spend a day away from city traffic and relax a bit, but also a place to stay fit and enjoy pleasant moments with loved ones along the banks of this fascinating river.

I hope you found my story interesting and that you liked my photos. See you soon. Goodbye, everyone.
