Hello fearless friends and fellow travelers! How's it going?
How are you in this frenetic race towards Christmas? I hope your Christmas spirit is higher than a Christmas tree covered in twinkling lights! I'm doing well, thank you, and I'm ready to share the adventures of my latest exploration, even though I always have little time to write, unfortunately!
Last Sunday, I set course for the magical city of Treviso, in the Veneto region, to immerse myself in the Christmas atmosphere. I don't know about you, but for me, the scent of mulled wine and Christmas markets is like a magical potion that instantly makes you feel happy—a beautiful time for me, and I hope to explore new ones during the upcoming Christmas holidays.
Treviso, with its sparkling lights and Christmas decorations, seemed like a Christmas painting made to fill anyone's heart with joy. And let's not talk about the markets! There were so many gift ideas and handmade creations that I felt like Santa Claus in a toy factory. Unfortunately, as usual, I always forget to take pictures to share with you here.
I arrived a bit late, and the sun was already bidding farewell, but Treviso revealed itself as charming even in the moonlight. I took a quick stroll, admired the illuminations, and captured a few shots for posterity. I have to say there were plenty of things to photograph—I even encountered several photographers during my walk, probably professionals wanting to immortalize this moment.
Dinner was a culinary surprise! I discovered a restaurant as charming as it was good. The highlight? A pomegranate risotto! Yes, you heard that right. Pomegranate made a triumphant entrance into the world of risottos, and I must say it was a success! Never in a million years would I have expected to taste such a risotto, not even in Milan, the homeland of risotto, where the only fruit risotto I've tried was with strawberries last spring.
Treviso won my heart with its peaceful atmosphere, somewhat Venetian but without the tourist crowds—a beautiful thing because you can enjoy the city better. Unfortunately, even Milan is starting to experience too much tourist traffic lately. The illuminations on the river were a spectacle, and the traditional Christmas tree was so beautiful that it would envy every Christmas tree in the world.
And what about the buildings influenced by the Austro-Hungarian style? Treviso has an irresistible elegance! I was enchanted, and even though I spent only a few hours, I'm sure I'll be back soon because honestly, I didn't think Treviso had all these things to offer.
