Hello everyone π
How are you all?
I hope wherever you are, you all are doing well π€
During October, when I was visiting home during diwali holidays, my friends and i made a quick plan and decided to visit the Mini Switzerland of India - Shangarh.
Shangarh is a little village that is located in the Sainj valley of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh, India. Shangarh is located at an altitude of 6,900 ft. Shangarh does not have a great hype like Manali or Kasol, but, it will leave you in awe with its splendid beauty. There is calmness and tranquility in this valley, that other valleys cannot offer. It is unknown to most of the people.
This is the main meadow area. The main meadow area is believed to be home to the Pandavas, the famous warrior of Indian mythology, Mahabharat. This meadow area is divided into two parts, one part is called the devta ground, where the holy functions of devta maharaj are performed and the other part is where people and animal can roam and lounge.
The meadows of shangarh is the hub of religious activities in the area. The meadows of shangarh or the devta ground is a vast meadow with the backdrop of big mountain ranges. This is the most popular place of shangarh. The shangarh meadows has a main temple that is Shangchul Mahadev Temple, which is home to Shangchul Mahadev diety. There are other temples which is dedicated to local dieties.
The Sainj valley is opposite to the very popular Tirthan Valley in the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) region. The villages of Sainj valley as well as Shangarh fall under the 'ECOZONE' of GHNP and are protected under the Wildlife Protection Act.
The calmness of this place is worth remembering. This beautiful village will urge you to slow down and make you fall in love with the nature again. You can do various activities like trekking and solo travelling. You can also have a picnic with your family and friends too.
There are lots of treks you can do from the base camp of shangarh. You can do treks to Lapah Village, Shumga Thach, Sara village, Ganjau Thach and Thini Thach. You can do camping at this place too.
The Shangchul Mahadev Temple is a big towering structure in the village surrounded by some houses and a small hike will take you there. It is built in the traditional Kath kuni architecture, the wooden work of this temple is truly a work of art. It is made like typical Kath kuni style which are found in Himalayan region.
The vibes of this place is so calming and peaceful. The air of this place is so fresh.
I can spend so much time here. This place help me calm down and not think about so much things that are going on in our daily life.
The secluded trails will make you want to spend more and more time in this place. This place is not known to too much people, that's why, this place can keep its calmness.
I wish you all do visit this beautiful place sometime.
