ENGLISH
El Café hill is a favorite mountain for many hiking enthusiasts in Valencia, Venezuela.
One of them, a travel and adventure vlogger, came with me and his father to explore the trails.
We started the hike at a rather hot time, one in the afternoon. We live in a hot country, but fortunately, the hill has so many trees that the sun rarely bothered us.
There are multiple routes to reach the summit. And, being adventurers, we combined three of them.
There's the "rocky" path, as he called it, generally used by those seeking a shortcut.
We hiked for about 45 minutes on that route, and luckily, we didn't see any bikes. It's worth noting that, at least for me, this is the most beautiful part of the mountain because there are many trees, and the pine trees, which aren't native to this habitat, provide a unique atmosphere.
Looking back, you can see how the city gets smaller and smaller. Meanwhile, fatigue increases, but so does the desire to reach the top.
I took the opportunity to take some photos of the hike and share them with the community, and also because this hill deserves it.
It's a shame that there are inconsiderate people who litter; therefore, it's necessary to document to draw the attention of those who don't care for the ecosystem.
Along the way, the vlogger (his nickname is Pipo) and I talked about life and our aspirations.
I think the hill is one of the ideal places to reflect on existence, and doing it in the company of someone motivated is a bonus.
His father, a 61-year-old man (an age he repeated numerous times to affirm his physical ability), walked at a slow but steady pace.
The three of us went little by little, because we weren't competing, but enjoying the journey.
Then we took the paved road, which is the most common because it's easier.
If you're wondering why there's asphalt, it's because this place was a project to turn it into a tourist complex, which is why many families used to drive up.
They still do, only at the top there are some huts weathered by time.
After that, we took the path used by extreme cyclists. So, if you go that way, you have to be careful, unless it's at night, since I once went up at that time and we were the only hikers.
Anyway, we reached the highest point of El Café and stopped to observe the landscape, which is the reward for the effort of climbing.
Drying your sweat with the mountain breeze gives a very pleasant feeling of relief.
After that, we ate, hydrated, and continued enjoying the place. Finally, we went down in almost two hours. It was almost six in the afternoon when we arrived.
The weather was perfect to reach the bottom and appreciate the height of the hike.
