Hello everyone! Today I'd like to tell you about our trip to Innsbruck. Innsbruck is the fifth largest city in Austria and a renowned hub for winter sports. Surrounding the city are famous areas for skiing and snowboarding.
We kicked off our journey with a ride on the cable car. The cable car station boasts a stunning design. However, we ended up spending quite a while waiting for the next cable car due to limited operating hours and weather forecasts, leaving us with little time to spare. So, we quickly left our belongings at the hotel and headed straight for the cable car. We had to hop on the cable car to reach a scenic viewpoint located at one of the highest points in the city, which stands at an elevation of 2300 meters.
This cable car has three stages. The first stage is fairly straightforward and frequently used, but as we ascended, the waiting times decreased, and more people could be accommodated. The second stage is the longest, but reaching it on foot would have taken quite a while. Unfortunately, we couldn't take advantage of this section as it was getting late in the evening and the weather was deteriorating. However, we could catch glimpses of people enjoying the scenic walk. Finally, reaching the third stage was the most challenging as it was shorter but steeper. We had to protect our ears at this stage, and it was important to remember that this section closed before the others.
Despite being only 2300 meters high, there was a lot of snow, so the viewpoint was covered in snow. While it was possible to approach, it wasn't highly recommended. Nonetheless, we could still admire the snow and the mountains. Even the benches were covered in snow, creating a beautiful scene.
We returned by train, waiting for about 40 minutes. The ticket prices were quite reasonable, just 10 euros. There's an area for traveling by train, and many Alpine routes are available here. However, we had concerns about the weather. There were risks like unexpected weather changes.
It was quite cold, -2 degrees Celsius, and there was a light snowfall. However, this didn't dampen our enjoyment of the trip. We set out towards the lake, walking along the snow-covered path for about 4 kilometers.
Here's what we found: sandwiches, tea and more tea. Drinking hot tea to warm up on the way back gave us great pleasure.
We returned to the city, but there was a problem; we had to descend from these stairs, or rather, this slide. It was a bit scary, slippery, and snowing. We had never seen snow like this before.
They actually have telephone booths here.
Now it's time to warm up with some hot vanilla sauce, something more interesting than just ice cream and this strudel.
We found something to try, something spicy; it reminds me of Japanese beverages.
Finally, we had the chance to explore the city. The locals' reaction to the mountains is like coastal dwellers' reaction to the ocean; they come only a few times a year. If I saw this view every day, I'd probably perceive it as just another normal day and go about my business. But the Inn River is one of the most beautiful things about the mountains.
There was an interesting vending machine selling candles at the cemetery. We could hear the sounds of bells from the church services.
