Sometimes I like to believe that coincidences exist, but I'm also aware that "causalities" have more power and are the ones that we can, in a way, manage. They say that each of our actions and decisions lead us to where we want to be, and so it has been for me in these last three years full of travels and walks through beautiful places. Since I started writing this blog in 2020 I set myself the goal of knowing at least one place in each of the 23 provinces of my country Argentina and step by step I was working to make it happen. With perseverance and doing what was necessary to make it happen, causalities ended up putting me where I wanted to be at that moment, in what would be one of the most beautiful trips to the most beautiful places in my country and where I wanted with all my heart to go. The province of Tierra del Fuego became #18 on my #travelgoal list, where the city of Ushuaia gave me many of the most beautiful landscapes I have seen so far ❤️.
A veces me gusta creer que las casualidades existen, pero también soy consciente de que las "causalidades" tienen más poder y son las que nosotros podemos, de cierto modo, manejar. Dicen que cada uno de nuestros actos y decisiones nos llevan a donde queremos estar, y así viene siendo para mí en estos últimos tres años llenos de viajes y paseos por lugares hermosos. Desde que empecé a escribir este blog en 2020 me propuse la meta de conocer al menos un lugar de cada una de las 23 provincias de mi país Argentina y paso a paso fui trabajando para que así sea. Con perseverancia y haciendo lo necesario para concretarlo, las causalidades me terminaron poniéndo en donde quería en ese momento, en el que sería uno de los viajes a los lugares más hermosos de mi país y al que deseaba con todo mi corazón llegar. La provincia de Tierra del Fuego se convirtió en la #18 en mi lista de #travelgoal, en donde la ciudad de Ushuaia me regaló muchos de los paisajes más lindos que ví hasta ahora ❤️.
Undoubtedly, my first trip alone to the province of San Juan for two months was the turning point of my life. That trip made me realize how much I enjoy exploring other cultures within my own country, in a relaxed way and at the same time working in the hotel business to save a little on lodging. I had a great time in San Juan, seeing a lot of beautiful places, and once I set a return date to go home, I realized that I wanted to keep doing this for a while longer now that my horizons had expanded. It was still spring, but I was already visualizing a summer of traveling somewhere beautiful and what better than in a city unexplored by me so far, as was Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego in the south of the country 😃.
Sin dudas, mi primer viaje sola a la provincia de San Juan durante dos meses fue el evento bisagra de mi vida. Ese viaje me hizo dar cuenta de lo mucho que me gusta explorar otras culturas dentro de mi propio país, de manera relajada y al mismo tiempo que voy trabajando en la hostelería para ahorrar un poco en hospedaje. En San Juan la pasé muy bien, conociendo un montón de lugares hermosos, y una vez que puse fecha de vuelta para ir a mi casa, me dí cuenta de que quería seguir haciendo esto por algún tiempo más ahora que ya se habían expandido mis horizontes. Todavía era primavera, pero yo ya me estaba visualizando un verano de viaje en algún lugar hermoso y que mejor que fuera en una ciudad inexplorada por mí hasta el momento, como lo era Ushuaia en Tierra del Fuego al sur del país 😃.

The city of Ushuaia represents one of the most expensive vacation destinations in Argentina. As it is a beautiful place visited by tourists from all over the world, its prices are at international level, which is quite inaccessible to us locals. But now that I had discovered the world of work-for-accommodation exchange, I decided to do the same in Ushuaia. To do this, I completely changed my job resume from engineering to hospitality and started sending it to absolutely every hostel I could find in Ushuaia, hoping that one would make a place for me to work in the summer. Unfortunately, many other travelers had already beaten me to it and I didn't get a place in any establishment, as the city is relatively small and of course, very sought after for this kind of exchange 🙃.
La ciudad de Ushuaia representa uno de los destinos más caros para ir de vacaciones dentro de Argentina. Como es un lugar hermoso y visitado por turistas de todo el mundo, sus precios están a nivel internacional, lo que nos resulta bastante inaccesible a nosotros los locales. Pero ahora que había descubierto el mundillo de intercambio de trabajo por alojamiento, me propuse hacer lo mismo en Ushuaia. Para esto, cambié por completo mi currículum de trabajo de ingeniería a hotelería y empecé a enviarlo a absolutamente todos los hosteles que encontré en Ushuaia, esperando que alguno me hiciera un lugar de trabajo en el verano. Lamentablemente, muchos otros viajeros ya se me habían adelantado en esto y no conseguí lugar en ningún establecimiento, ya que la ciudad es relativamente pequeña y por supuesto, muy solicitada para este tipo de intercambios 🙃.
The truth was that not getting a place for this exchange in Ushuaia was very disappointing. The days went by and the summer was approaching and I only got negative answers, so I gave up my search in that place. However, I still wanted to spend my summer in a beautiful place in Argentina and, as our country is so huge, there were still many more options. I expanded the list of destinations to apply for this exchange until I reached an establishment in the province of Rio Negro that accepted me for the job as of mid-December: not exactly what I was looking for, but a great destination nonetheless 😃.
La verdad fue que no haber conseguido lugar para este intercambio en Ushuaia me desilusionó bastante. Los días pasaban y se acercaba el verano y solo obtenía respuestas negativas, así que desistí de mi búsqueda en ese lugar. Sin embargo, aún quería pasar mi verano en un lugar hermoso de Argentina y, como nuestro país es tan enorme, aún quedaban muchas opciones más. Amplié la lista de destinos para solicitar este intercambio hasta llegar hasta un establecimiento en la provincia de Río Negro que me aceptó para el trabajo a partir de mediados de diciembre: no era exactamente lo que estaba buscando, pero era un gran destino de todos modos 😃.
Three weeks had passed since I had committed to go to Rio Negro in december, when I got an email from an establishment in Ushuaia asking me if it was still in my plans to go to Tierra del Fuego since they had a job opening for 20 days. To my absolute luck, the dates of this job were before the middle of december, which suited me just right so I wouldn't have to turn down the other position. You can't imagine how happy I was, it almost felt like a divine opportunity since I wasn't expecting it at all. After all, I was going to be able to get to know Ushuaia, which was what I wanted to do in the first place 😃.
Tres semanas habían pasado desde que me había comprometido a ir a Río Negro en diciembre, cuando me llegó un mail de un establecimiento de Ushuaia preguntándome si aún estaba en mis planes ir para Tierra del Fuego ya que tenían abierta una vacante de trabajo durante 20 días. Para mi absoluta suerte, las fechas de este trabajo eran antes de la mitad de diciembre, lo que me encajaba justo para no tener que rechazar el otro puesto. Ni se imaginarán la felicidad que me dió esto, casi que lo sentí como una oportunidad divina ya que no me lo esperaba para nada. Al fin de cuentas, iba a poder conocer Ushuaia que era lo que quería hacer en un principio 😃.
Going to Ushuaia meant having to buy an extra ticket there, as well as some things to prepare for the cold that it would be there. Although it was going to be almost summer, the temperatures would not exceed 15°C during my entire stay, so it was best to go with good warm clothing, in addition to the warm clothing that I had to bring for the other walk in Río Negro. As soon as I got off the plane, the change in temperature was very noticeable: while in Buenos Aires it was 30°C in Ushuaia it was 6°C. In three hours of travel, I had moved to a completely different climate and landscape 😅.
Ir a Ushuaia implicó tener que comprar un pasaje extra hasta allá, además de algunas cosas para preparame para el frío que haría en ese lugar. Aunque iba a ser casi verano, las temperaturas no superarían los 15°C durante toda mi estadía, así que lo mejor era ir con buena ropa de abrigo, además de la ropa de calor que tenía que llevar para el otro paseo en Río Negro. Ni bien bajé del avión, se notó mucho el cambio de temperatura: mientras que en Buenos Aires hacían 30°C en Ushuaia hacían 6°C. En tres horas de viaje, me había movido a otro clima y paisajes totalmente diferente 😅.
After arriving at the hostel where I would have to work for the next few days, I went out for a while to explore the surroundings of the city. I couldn't believe I was there, walking through those streets, taking the walk I wanted. The city of Ushuaia is very beautiful, with its snow-capped mountains so close and the Beagle Channel adorning its coasts. This city has the title of being the southernmost, commonly known as "the end of the world." It also has a phrase that I like, which is "Ushuaia, end of the world, beginning of everything", playing with relative points of view. Without a doubt, once I was there, I understood why tourists from all over come to visit this place ❤️.
Después de llegar al hostel en donde tendría que trabajar los próximos días, salí un rato a explorar los alrededores de la ciudad. No podía creer que estaba ahí, caminando por esas calles, concretando el paseo que quería. La ciudad de Ushuaia es muy hermosa, con sus montañas nevadas tan cerca y el canal de Beagle adornando sus costas. Esta ciudad tiene el título de ser la más autral, conocida comunmente como "el fin del mundo". También tiene una frase que me gusta que es "Ushuaia, fin del mundo, principio de todo", jugando con los puntos de vistas relativos. Sin dudas, una vez que estuve ahí, entendí por qué turistas de todas partes llegan a visitar este lugar ❤️.

Siempre digo que prefiero el calor, pero el frío de esta ciudad no me desagradaba. Con el abrigo suficiente, podías estar al aire libre sin problemas. Algo que también identifiqué rápidamente es el microclima que tiene: durante un solo día, podes pasar por lluvia, calor, sol e incluso algo de nieve. Los dueños del hostel me advirtieron de que use vestimenta en capas para poder abrigarme y desabrigarme fácilmente durante los paseos y fue el consejo más valioso que tuve durante toda mi estadía 😅.
Having visited Ushuaia in the province of Tierra del Fuego meant having reached step #18 on my #travelgoal list. To date, this was the last new province I visited, which means I only have about 5 left to go. When I started writing here, I had already visited 9 provinces on previous trips and the next 9 were thanks to this blockchain. I will never stop being grateful for this great opportunity to do what I like and at the same time, carry my economic activity with me, sharing my journeys on this blog. Someone once told me that "a trip is enjoyed three times: when you dream it, when you live it, and when you remember it", and I'm happy Hive allows me to do all three ❤️.
Haber visitado Ushuaia en la provincia de Tierra del Fuego significó haber alcanzado el escalón #18 en mi lista de #travelgoal. Hasta el día de la fecha, esta fue la última provincia nueva que visité, lo que significa que solo me quedan unas 5 por delante. Cuando empecé a escribir acá, ya había conocido 9 provincias en paseos anteriores y las 9 siguientes fueron gracias a esta blockchain. Nunca voy a dejar de estar agradecida por esta gran oportunidad de hacer lo que me gusta y al mismo tiempo, llevar mi actividad económica conmigo, compartiendo mis travesías en este blog. Una vez alguien me dijo que "un viaje se disfruta tres veces: cuando se lo sueña, cuando se lo vive y cuando se lo recuerda", y estoy feliz de Hive me permita hacer las tres cosas ❤️.

Siii, creo que todo sigue bastante igual jaja. Me parece que en Mirador del Paso Garibaldi ahora hay una nueva construcción, tipo un balcón, pero el resto está todo igual 😅
