A Tranquil Paradise!
La Fillette Beach can be found on the northernmost coastline of the Caribbean Island of Trinidad and is most known for its many coves, arches and coastal features that are breathtakingly patterned by the relentless ocean. You would need a boat to explore the bay properly but I have something just as mobile, a drone! This way I got to explore as much as I wanted as well as being able to document the awesome views that La Fillette had to offer!
There are many small inlets or little bay like areas with beautiful almost virgin sands that are not quite easy to get to but it is so rewarding when you do as not many people are willing to make to effort. You get the whole thing to yourself almost like private beach without having to pay anything except some physical energy.
It goes without saying that the waters here are so clean and clear that it solidifies the feeling that you are without a doubt basking within an island paradise! The cliff sides that are just on the beach itself are beautifully covered in vibrant vegetation that provides a much needed uninterrupted cover and shade!
Today there were a lot of people concentrated in the area that was easiest to get to and they all seemed to be having so much fun! They were playing a lot of games and joyfully singing and making merry in a way that I had not seen since before COVID! It was quite comforting to see and hear!
I was more excited about exploring the beautiful inlets and rock formations along the bay and quickly launched the drone to fly around and see what I could discover and document that many people would not have ever seen before!
I did not have to fly too far! The photo above is of the first interesting thing I saw and I resolved to fly in between the spacing but from the other side as you will see!
I also managed to see some interesting cliff features with rock faces, the colors of which I have never seen before! The patterns of the strata were so interesting as well as eye pleasing!
Here is where I attempt to fly in between the rocks we saw earlier but from the other side! I was hoping the drone proximity sensors did not auto stop the flight as it usually does when it is too close for comfort but it managed pass with utmost ease. I have footage of the maneuver in the video that I shall be posting soon to social media.
Lower down, I found what was my most favorite find of the whole flight! There were these mini arches formed within the outcrops of rock with such beautifully patterns rocks that caught my eyes and I knew I just had to get closer! It looked almost like some sort of mystical marine creature with its arches and being covered by these somewhat furry looking grasses.
The waters in and around the arches were so calm and did not at all seem to crash or hit up against the rock in any way. I managed to fly around on the other side of it to get some more views of the arches and it looked just as if not more beautiful on the other side! The rock itself had lines and layers that seemed to be sanded down beautifully and perfectly slowly over the eons of time!
While I did not bathe that day as I was so excited to capture the awesome rock formations and arches, the photos and video I managed to capture of seldom seen coastal features of La Fillette beach was more than enough to satisfy me in the sense of a true amatuer photographer!
