A visit to the village of Mabotuwana, which is rich in natural objects in Sri Lanka...

Hello my loving Hivers,

How are you my friends? I hope you are doing well. With the spread of the corona epidemic looming, it is imperative that we all take precautionary measures to save the lives of all at this time when travel is locked up. It was a great privilege to have the opportunity to travel through the beautiful villages of the past. I say that because I do not know when I will have the opportunity to visit again. However, I had the opportunity to see very clearly the village of Mabotuwana in the Galle District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, and I hope to present information about it in today's content.

`As you can see from most of my travel content you get to see the same kind of photos. But the fresh shaping of nature objects from region to region is in a special way in the features of topography. I had the opportunity to observe very clearly that the village of Mabotuwana, which shows the characteristics of a wet zone, is a beautiful and peaceful place.

*There are two ways to reach Mabotuwana village. If you are coming from Galle to Udugama road, you can reach from Kottawa junction via wanduramba - yakkalamulla main road. You can also reach Wanduramba Junction on the Galle-Mapalagama Road and use the Yakkalamulla Main Road to reach Mabotuwana. Whichever of these two routes you take, you can enjoy the beauty of nature.

The tea estates of Mabotuwana village are adorned with lush green surroundings and the tea plantations can be clearly seen spreading on the hillsides. Sri Lanka has received less rainfall in the recent past, and I can see with my own eyes how this area has received some amount of rain. I found some evidence for that.

After observing the surrounding environment, I was able to conclude that the people of this area also earn income from intercropping. The tea estates were maintained by the tea factories, and the villagers provided its labor as laborers. In some places I saw small tea plants planted and put up for sale. In addition to tea cultivation, banana cultivation was more widespread in the area. With the high demand for bananas nowadays, it is also an opportunity for the villagers to make a good profit as they have the opportunity to sell them at a reasonable price.

Although a small village, the infrastructure was in very good condition. It was difficult to find a house without electricity, and when asked by the villagers, they said that very few people live in this area without electricity. It is a fact that I know that increasing the infrastructure will bring more benefits to the people and also increase the efficiency. But if it increases the needs of the people, destroys simplicity and misuses the natural environment for it, it will not bring good to the people living in the future.

Plants of different species as well as topographical features can be seen in this region. During that visit I was able to see the trees that are endemic to the wet zone forests on the small hills.

Jackfruit trees are common in villages near home gardens. Jackfruit has been a delicacy of the villagers since ancient times. Instead of rice, they were tempted to eat jackfruit because it contained more nutrients. Sri Lankan housewives used to prepare food differently from jackfruit.

Temple is a Buddhist site established to promote reconciliation in Sri Lankan rural society. The monks of the temple are people who play a great role in promoting peace among the villagers as well as in creating good citizens for the society. I could also see the temple built near a paddy field in Mabotuwana village.

Canals play a significant role in paddy cultivation as well as intercropping. In this village too, a villager informed me that the transport of water for cultivation by a small canal has been going on for some time. Although it contains muddy water, it does a good job of cultivating.

Then I could see an empty field at the top of the hill with all the weeds removed and well prepared for tea cultivation. A small parking lot could be seen at the top of the hill. I was able to confirm that it was a temporary resting place for the workers to maintain the tea plantation properly.

You can clearly see in the photos above how well the lowland tea cultivation is spreading in this village. Rainfall is an essential factor for tea cultivation. But despite the dry weather, the tea plantation grew well with a certain volume of water.

Many women think that there is nowhere more beautiful than the flowers that grow in the garden. But you all know that the wild flowers that grow in the forest as well as in the villages have a special beauty. If you have traveled through the jungle, you probably know about it. We can see a unique beauty even in the wildflowers seen in the two photos above. There is not much need for the smell in them. If we can see a vision that adds relief to the mind, there is almost no greater value than that. I was able to add a few more unique experiences through this trip. I am especially happy about that. I take it temporarily in hopes of meeting you with another similar trip. Thank you all for reading the content. Have a wonderful day.*
