It is quite cool they have those pools although I am glad you didnt go all the way down and into the water in the death boulder chasm that you fisst stumbled upon!

Yeah I attempted to go down and turned around half way when it got too precarious. I was like "this can't be the spot this is way too difficult and dangerous," but then also I was like "but it is Europe so maybe?" 😂
In north America we are bubble wrapped for protection because of all the frivolous law suits, so its put a fence or barrier around everything sort of thing. I prefer in Europe how its more of a "use at your own risk" sort of mentality.
Just reading that reminds me of a mountain path I took the family up once and it was barely signposted and it wasnt until the Good Lady flatly refused to go any further as it was getting dangerous that I conceded we may have gone the wrong way :OD
Yeah it definitely happens. Sometimes even when following a marked trail. Like when you miss one of the markings on the ground and go past it and 20 minutes later are like "none of this feels right. What the hell has happened?"
