Hello to all my Hive friends :)
Today I will not tell you about my whole trip to North Macedonia and in particular Ohrid, but I will focus on some things that really impressed me.
This is the monastery of St. Naum. First I have to clarify that this is not just a monastery, but a whole huge complex. The trip to the complex itself was extremely pleasant, as there were incredible views of the lake. Lake Ohrid is the largest on the Balkan Peninsula and is located on the border between Albania and North Macedonia. It is really very beautiful and everyone should visit it. Here is photo from the trip to the complex.
As soon as you enter the complex, it is clear that it is really very well developed. It is full of greenery, various plants and the walk is very pleasant. There are a bunch of small shops where you can buy souvenirs.
Reaching the highest part you reach the monastery "St. Naum". There is the tomb of St. Naum and hundreds of pilgrims visit it daily. The monastery is very beautiful. It is full of free-walking peacocks, which we managed to photograph. And the view really stays in the mind. It is amazing!
On the way down we took a walk on a small pier, from which we took great pictures. The place is so beautiful and quiet. The walk really energizes you and leaves you delighted.
Before leaving the complex, we couldn't help but sit at some of the restaurants by the lake. We had lunch and enjoyed the amazing view. The food was amazingly tasty and very cheap. I ate one of the most delicious steaks of my life and drank lemonade to cool down.
We bought magnets and other souvenirs before we left.
Apart from the complex, we wanted to feel the lake closer. Therefore, when we were walking in the city of Ohrid, we boarded a boat and took a walk in it. The walk was about an hour, in which you feel real peace. We saw the whole city from the side and it is really very beautiful. The lake is really huge and never seems to end. Everyone who is in the city should not miss this walk. I can't forget to share a few photos with you.
This is a small part of what we saw in the city. There are many other amazing sights that I will tell you about another time. Although a small country, the country has a lot to offer and should be on the list of everyone who loves to travel.
