Dubai Abra - The Traditional Wooden Boats of Dubai.

in Pinmapple2 years ago

Dubai has two parts, one is just Dubai, the other is Bur Dubai. And to get around both parts of the city there are cars, bicycles, trains, buses and even a boat. Yes, a boat. There is a, rarely spoken of, river running through the city. The upper part across this river is called Bur Dubai. In many places there are long bridges over the river. There is also a tunnel called Sindaga that has been around for ages now. It is still a very popular landmark, and this road has been built under the water. Above this river is a beautiful bridge called the Business Bay bridge.

Although Dubai has all kinds of transportation services to go from one side to the other, many people prefer to travel by boat to experience it and also get close to the water. The water of the river gurgles and takes the mind away from pesky thoughts. People come from far and wide to enjoy this beautiful time on the water, and not so much to use it as a means of transport.

A lot of people from outside as well as locals come to explore the Bur Dubai area. Tourists come to visit this place all the time. There are beautiful wharves for boats on either side. There are rows and rows of boats leaving one wharf and coming to another wharf. The view from the other side of the boat is amazing!

It is a similar feeling of joy at any time of the year on these boats. The birds fluttering on the water...the rays of the sun along with the waves of water...the beauty of it all attracts the eye with an enchanting beauty.

The boats are under the official RTA name, also there are private boats and company exclusive boats. In the public RTA boats, the RTA issued public transportation cards have to be punched in. The same cards are used on the public buses, the metro, the tram and basically can be used in any mode of public transportation.

The rent for the private boats is one dirham to fifty dirham per person per ride. The view from the side of the two moors is beautiful! There is a nice seating area for passengers in the Dubai area. There is a toilet for the public. Small tea, coffee, and juice shops around. A variety of food shops and fast food shops. Among them are beautiful stores of fabrics, traditional taijash sheets, Arabic cloth, handbags, caps, fancy home decor items, and more.

It is impossible to explain the sweet relationship between water and nature. I invite you to come here for a boat ride at least once when you have the time. It is just as much a leisure activity as it is an integral part of the public transportation system.
