Trip to Buggiano part two: Buggiano and colle, the old and the new (ENG/ESP)

in Worldmappin8 months ago

Good evening friends, here I am with the second part of my trip to Buggiano, you can find the first part at the bottom of this post, where were we? I describe the village of Buggiano in general, in the previous post I visited Piazza Cavour from this square then I continued along one of the main streets of the town, the streets are all very similar with colored houses more or less the same size and with some small shops here and there, however I was struck by some doors of the houses or rather by the sculptures in relief that are above them, it seems that Buggiano is provided with various interesting historical buildings dating back to the post-war period as can be seen from the various large writings or inscriptions on the buildings. Then continuing I came across a delightful little church dedicated to Sant' Antonio Abate and with an imposing statue of the Madonna in front and a photo of our late Pope Francis, the church in the past was only an oratory then transformed into a church, it also suffered damage during the bombings of the Second World War. Afterwards, since I enjoyed the walk to Buggiano, on my way back I wanted to stop in a medieval village in the area that was on my way, but unfortunately I didn't have much time so I couldn't take as many photos as I would have liked.

On the way back I decided to visit this village called Buggiano hill, attracted by the tower, I go crazy for towers, fortresses and castles, this village like many others in the area is of medieval origin and is really cute, it's a shame I didn't have too much time to visit it calmly, however this village is not very far from Buggiano town but it is much more graceful and suggestive, surrounded by greenery like the whole area of the valley it has beautiful fields and meadows and then it seems like a small gem in ancient stone hidden in the valley, as soon as you enter the center of the village you have the feeling of returning to the Middle Ages! Now I have not understood well if this fraction was in itself or if it is simply part of the ancient part of Buggiano and having little time unfortunately I have not found information on the tower or the village I only hope to return soon and make a more in-depth visit, there are also other villages immersed in the olive groves and of medieval origin that I would really like to visit in that area!

Saludos y bendiciones... Sigue paseando por lugares preciosos...❤️
