I opened a bathing season on March 30, 2022 on Cleopatra Beach in Alania. We have been in Turkey since March 12. This journey is unknown how much the war sent us ... And if it happened that life has thrown us into this beautiful country, we decided to explore some beautiful places.

Of course, first our attention was attracted the historic wall and fortress, which wrote @bugavi
But later we learned about Cleopatra beach! I decided that I should first dip there :)
For the first time we saw the Cleopatra beach bird's-eye when climbing the mountain by cable car. But even there we could not fully understand its beauty.

And finally, we got there, choosing the day when the weather was very warm. We walked along the park, where some cafes on the beach were already opened. But there were still few people.
We were passionate about the beauty of this bay! First of all, I noticed a particularly beautiful sand structure. He was like small pearls and was significantly different from the sand that I saw on other Alanya beaches.

Above us went funicular to the same historical mountain where we were a few days ago. It's an exciting sight! We went closer to the edge of the bay, where the sea rested on the rock and further was wildlife. There could be a stroll if there was heat and the water would be very warm, but not today :)

Victoria refused to swim. She does not like to bathe in cold water. But Darina and I decided to feel like Cleopatra :)
And here is this unforgettable moment that may not happen again. It's like the first love that is never forgotten! We are sailing in March in the Mediterranean on Cleopatra Beach!
Cleopatra Beach in Alanya is rightly considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Giant cedars, emerald water, majestic rocks around this beach.
The beauty of this place enchanted Cleopatra. The only inconvenience for the queen was too fine sand. He clung to his feet, and she didn't like it. Then the Roman emperor in love with her ordered to bring here a large golden sand from the Nile Valley. A beautiful fairy tale, isn't it? Thousands of tourists from all over the world come here to personally experience the spirit of this legend.

The legend remained a legend for many years, until one day scientists decided to study the same sand. And found that its structure corresponds to the sand in the Nile Valley and resembles tiny pearls. It does not heat up even in the heat, but remains comfortable for bare feet. Based on this, the researchers concluded that the possibility that Cleopatra herself once rested here, does exist. And a good fairy tale can be a real page in history.

The mild subtropical Mediterranean climate and the mountains, which do not allow cold winds to enter the city, make Alanya the warmest resort in Turkey.

After we swam and warmed up on the warm sand, we went for a walk along the shore and I noticed the unique structure of the seabed near the shore. There were very soft green algae, which covered the rock bottom with a soft fluffy carpet. The smell of iodine was very noticeable. And I enjoyed the sea air. I climbed barefoot into these algae. The sensations were so nice! And you can see the footprints of my feet left on the algae :)

Also very interesting was the bottom, which looked like many small depressions that formed unique patterns with the algae.
We walked until the sun began to set on the horizon, it was so nice to be on Cleopatra's beach.

People were sitting on the sand in pairs and I thought about how beautiful the Mediterranean is in spring. I am happy to have the opportunity to travel. It relaxes me a little and distracts me from anxious heavy thoughts about the war in Ukraine ...

There was a park near the beach and we walked along the alley, where we saw an interesting phenomenon - there was a real cat town! Houses for cats and many cats lived here :) Turks really care about street cats and are very warm to them.

We had an interesting experience near the park: we saw roasted chestnuts on the street and ate them for the first time! They turned out to be very hearty, like nuts. It was amazing and fun :)

I am glad that my post inspired you to dream. Wish you to visit the Cleopatra beach.

I have heard of Cleopatra Beach, but never been there yet. There are similar beaches in Türkiye famous with their sand such as Altınkum, Didim which means golden sand.

The weather has been very bad during Ramadan holiday. It is as cold as in March now in Istanbul. What a luck!

Roasted chestnut, in fact, is a traditional winter food, which is roasted over stove.

Thanks for the great post. If tou have been discovering Antalya, you should visit the Crazy Icecream Man. I posted about him few months ago. He is in Lara, Antalya.

You should if you wanna have good time ;)
