Hello Community. In my previous post I began to relate my experience traveling to Isla del Sol, in Lake Titicaca, on the Bolivian side.
Hola Comunidad. En mi publicación anterior comencé a relatar mi experiencia del viaje la Isla del Sol, en el lago Titicaca, del lado boliviano.
Today I want to show you the photographs I took from the terrace of my accommodation when the afternoon fell.
This is my accommodation. I had already shown them in the previous post, but I wanted to add it again to explain where I took my images from.
Hoy quiero mostrarles las fotografías que tomé desde la terraza de mi alojamiento cuando caía la tarde.
Este es mi alojamiento. Ya se los había mostrado en el post anterior, pero quise agregarlo otra vez para explicar desde donde tomé mis imágenes.
The view of the landscape from the accommodation is wonderful. You can appreciate all the immensity of Titicaca and you can even see the other shore that belongs to Peru.
La vista del paisaje que se ve desde el alojamiento es maravillosa. Se aprecia toda la inmensidad del Titicaca y hasta se logra ver la otra orilla que pertenece a Perú.
My accommodation was within the Yumani community, descendant of the Incas. These families live from agriculture, herding, fishing and tourism. Their grazing animals are llamas, alpacas, sheep, donkeys and pigs. When the sun goes down the shepherds go out to look for their animals.
I never got tired of taking photographs of them when they returned home with their animals.
Some stopped to chat, to tell each other their stories of the day while they walked with their animals.
Mi alojamiento estaba en el seno de la comunidad Yumani, descendiente de los incas. Estas familias viven de la agricultura, el pastoreo, la pesca y el turismo. Sus animales de pastoreo son llamas, alpacas, ovejas, burros y cerdos. Cuando cae el sol los pastores salen a buscar sus animales.
No me cansé de tomarles fotografías cuando regresaban a sus hogares con sus animales.
Algunos se detenían a charlar, a contarse sus anécdotas del día mientras caminaban junto a sus animales.
This is the main street. Place of conversation between pastors, hotels and restaurants.
Esta es la calle principal. Lugar de charla entre pastores, de hoteles y restaurantes.
It was already getting dark and there was less and less light. It was difficult for me to continue taking photos. I had to raise the ISO of my camera to continue capturing the shepherds. As a result the last photos of the afternoon have so much noise and texture.
Ya estaba oscureciendo y cada vez tenía menos luz. Se me dificultaba seguir tomando fotos. Tuve que subir el ISO de mi cámara para poder seguir captando a los pastores. Como resultado las últimas fotos de la tarde tienen tanto ruido y tanta textura.
Night had arrived, shepherds and animals had already returned to their homes. The darkness was now total. The Milky Way was upon us.
La noche había llegado, pastores y animales ya habían retornado a sus hogares. La oscuridad ya era total. La Vía Láctea estaba sobre nosotros.
The main street showed off all its lights.
La calle principal lucía todas sus luces.
Like the shepherds, I also went to rest and regain strength to continue touring the island the next day.

Qué fotos tan hermosas!! Me gusta mucho cómo has capturado la cultura del lugar más allá de la belleza paisajística!! Enamorada de tus fotos! Mi preferida es la que dice “Restaurant”, con los pastores o arrieros y las ovejas a un costado, me puso la piel de gallina!! Bellísima!
