Namaste 🙏
Hope you all are doing great as always!!!
Thanks for all the love and support on my last blog. It really means a lot to me and seeing it mention on the daily #traveldigest was the best thing that happened to me today.
If you haven’t been through my last blog, I’ll be posting the link to my yesterday‘s blog below, so that you can take a look.
Now we were all to be boarded onto the boats that were dedicated to us. These were double-decker boats which held more than 70 people at once, and was perfect for travel groups like ours.
It took us a little while to get on the boat as the most people that were travelling along with us were elderly as already mentioned in my previous blogs. There was a gap between the Ghat and the boat, and most people were taking time to cross that gap.
I helped my grandparents to board the boat at first, and then I boarded the boat. We were one of the first ones to get onto the boat. Taking advantage of our early check-in, I took my chance to get the last of the boat and took one selfie there.
Getting to Rajghat from Namo Ghat—
now we are all set to spend our day on the boat, exploring the Ghats of this ancient city of Varanasi, the first heart that we were crossing was called Raj Ghat.
We left Namo Ghat behind, and now we could see the hands that were built on the Namo Ghat from the boat at a distance. There were many other boards parked at the Namo Ghat so that the passengers could directly board the boats from the Namo car and explore the holy River of Ganga and the ancient city of Varanasi.
They were dedicated chairs for us on the first floor so that we could see all around us. We all came on the first floor of the boat to explore the city from the river, and the first thing that I saw that caught my eye was this Ambulance built inside a boat.
I never saw any Ambulance on a boat in my life previously, but this was the first time I was seeing this, and I was really happy to see this in the city of Varanasi because as most people travel through the water route and there could be many miss happening that could happen on the water itself, so it’s always safe to have an emergency vehicle or boat in this case.
After about 10 minutes of time on the river, we reached Raj Ghat. It was just on the opposite side of the bridge that we were seeing from Namo Ghat, and it wasn’t really far away. Most of the hearts that are built on the bank of river Ganga near the city of Varanasi are built in such a fashion only.
These Ghats are just Few feets or metres away from each other, but every Ghat has different significance.
History of Rajghat-
Raj Ghat is considered one of the most oldest and ancient part of the Varanasi. It was discovered in year 1940. By archaeological survey of India and they found ruins of ancient civilisation hair on this Ghat.
In the photograph below, you can see a boat carrying a lot of wood. At first. I was curious that why this boat is carrying such amount of wood. But later I realise that there is also a Ghatt called Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi that is famous for burning bodies that are burnt, 24 X 7 there. Then I realise that these wood are for the dead bodies.
They were not many people on the Raj Ghat at the time when I was seeing that Ghat from the river Ganga, but I saw some people building a boat for exploding the holy waters of Ganga and also seeing a lot of people who are into the profession of making boats on the Holy river Ghat of Raj Ghat on river Ganga.
That’s all for today.
Thanks for passing by.
Peace ☮️
Good evening my friend, your exploration is not in vain, the place is really very beautiful, you must have had a very extraordinary moment there ❤️🙏
Water ambulance - first time I've heard of such a thing! The world is moving too fast, haha. But it's actually a pretty practical solution - you've got the coastguard looking after people's safety, but there's not always anyone to help with accidents on the boats themselves. The whole concept could save a lot of lives.
What a wonderful trip, you managed to explore these beautiful places very well.
