O zamku w Niemodlinie dowiedziałem się przypadkiem, z któryś social-mediów. Sam zamek jako tak nie przyciągnął mojej uwagi. Było to coś innego coś, co nazwałem w tytule tego postu jako niecodzienna atrakcja. Mianowicie tą atrakcją jest stado saren, które są swobodnie wypuszczone na terenie zamku.
Przyznam, że początkowo, kiedy zobaczyłem na intrenecie zdjęcia ludzi karmiących sarny z ręki, pomyślałem, że nie jest to prawdziwe. Poczytałem trochę, znalazłem nagrania video i okazało się, że jednak jest to możliwe 🙂. Nie zastanawiając się długo, tam wyznaczyłem kierunek naszej kolejnej, wspólnej podróży. Wiedząc, że moja żona uwielbia zwierzęta, a sarny jej się szczególnie podobają, wiedziałem, że będzie to idealne miejsce na randkę. Tak też właśnie było, ale o tym trochę później.
Po kolei.
Podróż samochodem zajęła nam niecałe 3 godziny. Podczas podróży co jakieś 20 minut słyszałem pytanie "gdzie jedziemy?" "jesteśmy już?" "to gdzie w końcu jedziemy?". Jeśli oglądał ktoś z Was bajkę Shrek i pamiętacie scenę, kiedy Osioł pytał Shreka, czy daleko jeszcze, no to tak mniej więcej wyglądała nasz cała podróż. Jakoś zleciały te 3 godziny.
Parking miejski znajduje się zaraz przed bramą wejściową do zamku. Moja żona raczej nie takiej randki się spodziewała więc widok zamku, z zewnątrz niezbyt majestatycznego, średnio ją ucieszył.
Mowie jej - chodź, chodź spodoba Ci się.
Po wejściu za bramę trzeba kupić bilet i można kupić zestaw do karmienia zwierzaków. W tym momencie na jej twarzy zaczęło malować się zdziwienie oraz podejrzliwość. Udzielałem wymijających odpowiedzi i tak przeszliśmy z pomieszczenia, którym kupuje się marchewki na dziedziniec.
Dokładniej na "Dziedziniec Honorowy". Było to miejsce, na którym w dawnych czasach toczono pojedynki strzelnicze. Walczono o honor lub kobietę. Wygrany wracał z honorem lub damą, a przegrany...no cóż, nie wracał w ogóle. W dzisiejszych czasach odbywaj się tam lokalne uroczystości.
I found out about the castle in Niemodlin by accident from one of the social media. The castle itself did not attract my attention. It was something else, something I called in the title of this post as amazing attraction. Namely, this attraction is a herd of deer that are freely released within the castle.
I admit that initially, when I saw photos on the Internet of people feeding deer from their hands, I thought it was not real. I read a bit, found video recordings and it turned out that it is possible 🙂. Without hesitation, I set the direction for our next journey together there. Knowing that my wife loves animals and is particularly fond of deer, I knew this would be the perfect place for a date. That's exactly what happened, but more on that later.
In sequence.
The journey by car took us less than 3 hours. During the trip, every 20 minutes or so I heard the question "where are we going?" "are we there yet?" "so where are we going anyway?" If any of you watched the cartoon Shrek and remember the scene when Donkey asked Shrek if he was still far away, this is what our entire journey looked like. Somehow these 3 hours flew by.
The city parking lot is located right in front of the entrance gate to the castle. My wife wasn't expecting such a date, so the sight of the castle, not very majestic from the outside, didn't make her happy.
I tell her - come, come, you'll like it.
After entering the gate, you need to buy a ticket and you can buy a set for feeding the animals. At this point, surprise and suspicion began to appear on her face. I gave evasive answers and so we went from the room where carrots are bought to the courtyard.
More specifically, the "Honorary Courtyard". It was a place where shooting duels took place in ancient times. They fought for honor or women. The winner returned with honor or a lady, and the loser...well, didn't come back at all. Nowadays, local celebrations take place there.
Następnie przechodzi się przez most, który nosi nazwę Święty Most, ponieważ są umieszczone na nim figury świętych. Po jednej stronie mostu są umieszczeni święci Florian i Wendelin, a po drugiej Jan Nepomucen i Antoni. Miejscowa legenda głosi, że strzegą oni tajemnic zamku oraz pomagają odnaleźć rzeczy zgubione na jego terenie. Na szczęście nie musiałem się przekonywać czy to prawda 🙂.
Then you cross a bridge called Holy Bridge because it has statues of saints on it. On one side of the bridge are Saints Florian and Wendelin, and on the other side John of Nepomuk and Anthony. Local legend says that they guard the secrets of the castle and help find things lost within the castle. Fortunately, I didn't have to find out if it was true 🙂.
Po przekroczeniu mostu, w oddali zaczęły ukazywać się pierwsze osobniki z głównej atrakcji, dla których tutaj przyjechaliśmy i to wtedy na twarzy mojej żony zagościł uśmiech od ucha do ucha. Wtedy też okazało się jasno, po co był zakupiony prowiant przy wejściu.
Przyznaję, że był to niecodzienny widok swobodnie biegających saren w tłumie ludzi. Większość część obserwatorów stanowili dzieci. I moja żona wśród nich 🙂.
Zwierzaki były oswojone i przyzwyczajone do bliskiego kontaktu z ludźmi. Swobodnie podchodziły do wyciągniętych dłoni, w których znajdowały się warzywa lub zboże. Widać było, że podoba się im możliwość w przebieraniu, z których dłoni jedzą. Ich tłuściutkie brzuchy również na to wskazywały 😉.
After crossing the bridge, the first individuals from the main attraction for which we came here began to appear in the distance, and that's when a smile appeared on my wife's face from ear to ear. Then it became clear why the provisions had been purchased at the entrance.
I admit that it was an unusual sight to see deer running freely in a crowd of people. Most of the observers were children. And my wife among them 🙂.
The animals were tame and accustomed to close contact with people. They freely approached outstretched hands containing vegetables or grain. It was obvious that they liked being able to pick and choose which hands they ate from. Their fat bellies also indicated this 😉.
Jedyną bardziej męczącą kwestią z tego, co mi się wydaję, były dla nich piski dzieci i małe rączki, które chciały je ciągle dotykać. Na taką okoliczność, obecni włodarze zamku znaleźli fantastyczne rozwiązanie. Na terenie zamku, znajduje się strefa zamknięta dla ludzi, oznaczona tabliczkami informacyjnymi oraz kamerami. Jest to spory kawałek zieleni, na którym stoi bardzo duży budynek, stajnia jak mniemam, z którego zwierzęta chętnie korzystały. W tym miejscu widać było wyraźnie odprężone, leżące sarny, które przeżuwały pokarm. Żaden turysta nie zakłócał ich odpoczynku. Na powrót zwierzaków nie trzeba długo czekać. Co chwilę wychodziły kolejne osobniki, żeby się przespacerować wśród ludzi i skosztować pokarmu.
The only thing that was more tiring for them, I think, was the children's squeals and little hands that wanted to touch them all the time. For such a circumstance, the current owners of the castle found a fantastic solution. Within the castle, there is a zone closed to people, marked with information boards and cameras. It is a large piece of greenery, on which there is a very large building, a stable I assume, which the animals willingly used. At this point, you could clearly see relaxed, lying deer chewing their food. No tourist disturbed their rest. You don't have to wait long for the animals to return. Every now and then, more individuals came out to walk among people and taste food.

The entrance to the main courtyard is guarded by a mute guard, who is placed in front of a decorated gate with the coat of arms of the Praschm family.
Sam dziedziniec nie jest duży. Znajdują się na nim leżaki oraz kilka eksponatów. Można wejść z niego do do kaplicy.
The courtyard itself is not large. There are deckchairs and several exhibits. You can enter the chapel from there.
Na dziedzińcu znajdują się również drewniane wrota, znane z filmu "Jasminum" Jakuba Kolskiego, które każde przyozdobione jest inaczej. Jedne wiśniami, drugie śliwkami, a trzecie czeremchą.
In the courtyard there are also wooden gates, known from the film "Jasminum" by Jakub Kolski, each of which is decorated differently. One with cherries, the other with plums, and the third with bird cherry.
Zamek można obejść dookoła, mimo że nie jest on odrestaurowany, nadaje mu to jakiegoś uroku, a może właśnie dlatego. W środku zamku najsłynniejszą atrakcją do zwiedzania jest Bursztynowa Komnata, która podczas naszej wizyty była niestety zamknięta, więc nie wchodziliśmy do środka.
You can walk around the castle, even though it has not been restored, it gives it some charm, or maybe that's why. Inside the castle, the most famous attraction to visit is the Amber Room, which was unfortunately closed during our visit, so we did not go inside.
Przed pojawieniem się na miejscu sądziłem, że będzie to wycieczka na godzinę może dwie. Po przyjeździe mojej żonie tak się spodobało obcowanie z jej ulubionymi zwierzętami, że spędziliśmy tam pół dnia. Od tamtego czasu, kiedy wybieramy się gdzieś na wycieczkę, często słyszę pytanie - "czy też tam będą sarny?" 🙂.
Wychodząc z zamku, przechodzi się salą, w której można było kupić pokarm, również tam znajdują się różnego rodzaju pamiątki. Ja standardowo kupiłem pamiątkowy magnes na lodówkę. Jest to mój zwyczaj, który staram się praktykować podczas każdej podróży.
Before arriving, I thought it would be an hour or two trip. Upon arrival, my wife enjoyed interacting with her favorite animals so much that we spent half a day there. Since then, when we go somewhere on a trip, I often hear the question - "will there be deer there too?" 🙂.
Leaving the castle, you pass through a hall where you could buy food, there are also various souvenirs there. As usual, I bought a souvenir fridge magnet. This is a habit of mine that I try to practice during every trip.
