I am writing this post while I am watching the Panata sa Bayan: The KBP Presidential Candidates Forum 2022. Today is February 5, 2022, its a Saturday afternoon, I took a day off.

We visited Beengo Farm last November 30, 2021. This was the second destination that day, the first one was Villaconzoilo Farm, which I also posted here almost a month ago.

We stayed for maybe less than an hour, but we enjoyed our time here. The owner of the farm is very passionate and intelligent. He shared a bit of a back story of how Beengo Farm came into existence.

I had zero knowledge about bees before this day. Its truly amazing that some people are advocates and are devoting their time, energy and resources to create an impact in the environment and society.

We were able to try their locally produced natural honey. They are selling it at about ₱100-₱200 per bottle (sorry I forgot the exact price). Its really good and definitely different from commercialized honey (or melted sugar. Hehe).

By the way, Beengo Farm is located at Brgy. San Vicente in the municipality of Tunga, here in the province of Leyte. This is approximately 35 kilometers away or 40 minutes travel from Tacloban City.

The place is not actually a farm resort or a restaurant, its more of a bee sanctuary. They propagate stingless bees to help the farmers get a good harvest.

They also have accommodation in the farm, their own version of tiny house, which is about ₱1,000 per night, inclusive of snacks and meals. Its like your only paying for the food, and the accommodation is already free of charge. Guests who wishes to stay in these native huts may not pay it on cash but they can offer to work at the farm as a form of payment, something like couch surfing.

They offered us their locally made tea as well. You can taste the herbs, and it was soothing. If only I can go to this place everyday to try this tea. A good way to detox, it tastes therapeutic, feels like all of my uric acid suddenly dropped within the normal range. Haha.

I love the warmth and hospitality that was shown to us by the owner himself. He is very accommodating, and his passion towards helping the community is really admirable. They are not only propagating bees here, but they are propagating good vibes and inspiration.

In case anyone wants to just escape the noise or is going through a difficult time and just want to breathe and heal, this place is for you.

This is situated beside a river, which adds to the feels of being one with nature. This is only a very small farm, but they made use of every available space. Their is so much to learn about bees and their roles in the environment, which most people does not know, myself included. I'm one of those who are ignorant, neglects their existence and even scared of these tiny creatures. I only get to appreciate them because of Beengo Farm.

Sadly, we still need to head to our next destination so we were not able to really savor the place. I would like try their locally prepared food, which is 'lutong-bahay' on my next visit. I would also love to personally witness or experience harvesting the honey. I wanna capture it on videos.

Before we left, of course, we took a group picture first. Hehe.

Grateful for the wonderful time at Beengo Farm. May this little haven sustain its success, and continue making a difference in the community. May this sanctuary be a reminder to us, to set our priorities and focus on the things that really matters, not on generating revenues, not on personal interests, but on creating a lasting impact in this world.

-this is such an amazing pice for a natural honey. How I wish I can visit this place. I also love to try their tea. 😍

Looks great. Do you have any idea what kind of bees are these? Are Italian or jungle stingles bees?
