Hello everyone. Last December, I had a wonderful day in Bremen. Here's what Bremen Central Station looks like with these quaint houses right next to it.
Right next to the station, there's a windmill and just behind it, Alstadt begins. Across from the Bremen windmill, you'll find MOiN, the greeting symbol of Northern Germany. In Bremen, there was this interesting traffic light shaped like a figure resembling Santa Claus.
The Christmas market in the city center was quite crowded now, almost ready for Christmas. The rainy snowy weather wasn't ideal, but the holiday spirit was undeniable. In the middle of the square at the Christmas Market, there was a big Ferris wheel and right next to it stood Roland, one of Bremen's most famous landmarks. As long as Roland is in Bremen, the city is considered a free city. Right next to it is Bremen City Hall and in the square, there's St. Peter's Church. In front of City Hall, when a coin is thrown into a gap, you can hear the sounds of Bremen's animals - the donkey, the cat, the rooster and the dog.
The entire old town of Bremen seemed to have been turned into a shopping street. I headed towards the statue of the Bremen Musicians, the most famous spot in Bremen, located in the square. Also in the square, there's a chocolate shop selling postcards featuring the city's symbols. This chocolate shop, unique to Bremen, was quite small and the chocolate was rather expensive.
I arrived at Snor, where Robinzon's house is located. Snor mostly consists of souvenir shops. I went into one of the souvenir shops and of course, the prices were higher than in the summer months. In the same souvenir shop, where I bought a statue of Bremen animals for 15 euros in the summer, it's now 19 euros. I walked through Snor, it was incredibly beautiful and there were some interesting mailboxes here.
There's a shop here where handmade candies are made. I bought some candies to try from this store. A 145-gram jar costs 3.40 euros here, so if you buy three, it's 6 euros. I bought three jars for gifts. I liked the interesting bicycles, especially the front part for kids.
The second area across from Snorplatz is larger and very, very beautiful. Look at all these beautiful houses here. This is one of the famous statues.
There's another shop in Snor, where handmade candies are made. I bought a "Lebkuchen" for 3.50 euros, across from these beautiful houses. While walking towards these houses, a group of Spanish or Italian tourists came, accompanied by a guide. Then it started to get dark, the lights in the houses came on and the atmosphere became more festive.
All the houses in Snor look the same, but in another way, they're all slightly different and each one is uniquely beautiful. There are so many tourists in Bremen that they come from all over Germany. When I arrived by train, as I was boarding, an elderly couple amidst the crowd asked me, "Are you from Bremen?" They started asking people, "Are you from elsewhere?" I said I wasn't and neither were they, so half of the train was heading to Bremen and none of them were from Bremen.
Walking down Snor Street, it feels like everywhere is like a movie set. That's how it feels. Next to the houses near the square, there were these beautiful buildings. Now the weather had nicely darkened and all the buildings lit up. I approached the square again and there's such beauty here.
Later, I entered the church. It's St. Peter's Church and to reach up there, you have to climb 265 steps and it stands at a height of 60 meters. The ticket for adults is 4 euros and for children, it's 2 euros.
Afterward, I exited the church. It was nearly dark, the lamps started to light up and it felt like the beginning of a Christmas fairy tale.
