If there is a place that I loved in Barcelona has been the Labyrinth Park of Horta. It is a park with a touch of mystery and magic, it is located on the outskirts of the city, but do not worry that with a metro ride from the city center we will be in this beautiful place.

The Laberint d'Horta in Catalan language, is one of the most beloved places by the inhabitants of this city and it is not for less because being a little removed from the tourist cumulus that has this city, its inhabitants are immersed in this place to enjoy a quiet day with family and friends.
This place is one of the oldest in the city and is represented by gardens of the neoclassical period and Italian influence and although it is not one of the largest in the city if it is the most loved by its residents, particularly by children and well by adults too, I have checked and enjoyed it to the fullest and this is because in the center has a huge maze of bushes that will make you feel like being inside the movie Alice in Wonderland.

As a curious fact I would like to tell you that in this park was filmed the movie Pan's Labyrinth, immediately after knowing this I looked for the movie to see it and in it it seems much bigger than it really is, but nevertheless it perfectly fulfills its main objective of labyrinth, that no matter how much you see it from a high part and study it before starting to be inside it is impossible not to go back to look for the right path.
During our walk through the park there is not only the labyrinth as we thought, the place is much bigger than we imagined, touring the place we found a lot of structures and statues that give it that neoclassical and glamorous point. In addition, in the back it has a wooded area ideal for a walk in this green lung, have a picnic or why not, take a nap between their benches and rest a little.

The first thing we have when we arrive is the Romantic Garden, this has as its main theme to represent Death, according to the sign that accompanies the entrance indicates that in ancient times at this point there was a cemetery, which today is not evident and there are some ruins of it, at this point of the tour we find a door of the Chinese era, a garden with oriental inspiration and a huge building called the hermit's hut where the monks lived and that when you see such a building you will be totally dazzled with its architecture.

Next we have the Neoclassical Garden, unlike the previous garden, the theme of this place is Love, in this place we will walk through its beautiful labyrinth, some stairs of the neoclassical period, many mythological sculptures and an artificial lake that will make you feel connected with magic and nature.

The labyrinth is definitely the main attraction of this place, is formed by 750 meters of a tree called cypress, cut and aligned, forming a maze figure in which we can be inside like a movie story and looking for a way out. In the center of this puzzle, we find a statue of the god Egos, representative of love in mythology. In that part we usually find many people sitting, a little surrendered of not finding the way out and laughing a little of the rest because at that point we are usually quite lost and giving some turns leaving in the same place because at this point joins 8 exits of different routes of the maze the truth is a total madness, but from here it is very close to find the exit.

Above the labyrinth is a beautiful pavilion dedicated to the muses and a variety of sculptures, as well as a beautiful artificial lake that gives a special touch to the view of the entire park.
As a final recommendation if you want to spend a day with your family, couple or friends and want to have a picnic this place is very ideal for it, at the entrance you will find some tables and benches to sit and spend a pleasant sharing, so on your visit take your wicker basket, your checkered tablecloth and some snacks and you will end up spending a pleasant day with your loved ones. The entrance fee is only 2.50 euros.

El Laberint d’Horta en idioma catalán, es uno de los sitios más queridos por los habitantes de esta ciudad y no es para menos ya que al estar un poco retirado del cumulo turístico que tiene esta ciudad, sus habitantes se sumergen en este lugar para disfrutar un día tranquilo con sus familiares y amigos. .
Este lugar es uno de los más antiguos que se encuentran en la ciudad y esta representado por jardines de la época neoclásica e influencia italiana y aunque no sea uno de los más grandes de la ciudad si que es el mas querido por sus residentes, particularmente por los niños y bueno por los adultos que también, que lo he comprobado y disfrutado al máximo y esto es porque en el centro tiene un enorme laberinto de arbustos que te hará sentir estar dentro de la película de Alicia en el país de las maravillas.

Como dato curioso te comento que en este parque se filmó la película El Laberinto del Fauno, inmediatamente luego de saber esto he buscado la película para verla y en ella parece mucho más grande de lo que realmente es, pero sin embargo cumple perfectamente su objetivo principal de laberinto, que por mucho que lo veas desde una parte alta y lo estudies antes de comenzar al estar dentro es imposible no volver atrás para buscar el camino correcto.
Durante nuestro paseo por el parque no solo está el laberinto como pensábamos, el lugar es mucho más grande de lo que nos imaginábamos, recorriendo el lugar nos encontramos con una gran cantidad de estructuras y estatuas que le dan ese punto neoclásico y con mucho glamour. Además, en la parde de atrás tiene una zona boscosa ideal para dar una camínate en este pulmón vegetal, hacer un picnic o porque no, echar una siesta entre sus bancas y descansar un poco.

Lo primero que tenemos al llegar es el Jardín Romántico, este tiene como temática principal representar a La Muerte, Según el letrero que acompaña en su entrada indica que en la antigüedad en este punto existía un cementerio, cosa que hoy en día no se evidencia y quedan algunas ruinas de ello, en este punto del recorrido encontramos una puerta de la época china, un jardín con inspiración oriental y una enorme edificación llamada la cabaña del hermitaño en donde vivían los monjes y que al ver semejante edificación queras totalmente deslumbrado con su arquitectura.

Seguidamente tenemos el Jardín Neoclásico, a diferencia del jardín anterior, la temática de este lugar es el Amor, en este lugar recorreremos su hermoso laberinto, algunas escaleras de la época neoclásica muchas esculturas mitológicas y un lago artificial que te hará sentir estar conectado con la magia y la naturaleza.

El laberinto en definitiva es el mayor atractivo de este lugar, está formado por 750 Metros de un árbol llamado cipreses, cortados y alineados, formando esa figura de laberinto en la cual podemos estar dentro cual cuento de película y buscando una salida. En el centro de este rompecabezas, nos encontramos una estatua de dios Egos, representante del amor en la mitología. En esa parte solemos encontrar a muchas personas sentadas, un poco rendidas de no encontrar el camino de salida y riéndose un poco del resto porque en ese punto por lo general vamos bastante perdidos y dando algunas vueltas saliendo en el mismo lugar ya que en este punto se une 8 salidas de diferentes rutas del laberinto la verdad es una locura total, pero de acá falta muy poco para encontrar la salida.

Por encima del laberinto se sitúa un precioso pabellón la cual está dedicado a las musas y variedad de esculturas, además de un hermoso lago artificial que le da un toque especial a la vista de todo el parque.
Como recomendación final si quieres pasar un día en familia, en pareja o amistades y quieres hacer un picnic este lugar es muy ideal para ello, en la entrada encontraras unas mesas y bancas para sentarse y pasar un agradable compartir, así que en tu visita llévate tu cesta de mimbre, tu mantel de cuadros y algunos bocadillos y terminaras de pasar un día agradable con tus seres queridos. El costo de la entrada es de tan solo 2,50 euros.

Bueno a mi me encanta mucho visitar Barcelona y tampoco tenia conocimiento de este lugar ya que como detallo en el post turísticamente no es muy nombrado, pero los barcelonences si que le tiene un cariño especial y no es para menos
