A few days ago, my family and I had the opportunity to visit the 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023, which was held at Pragati Maidan from November 14th to 27th. Excitement filled the air as we embarked on this adventure, eager to explore the diverse stalls and exhibitions that awaited us.
We decided to take the metro to reach the fair, and our stop was Supreme Court. As we arrived, we were greeted by a guided map that aimed to assist tourists from different states and even different countries. This thoughtful gesture made us feel welcomed and ensured that we wouldn't miss out on any of the attractions.
The fair consisted of 14 halls, each showcasing a unique theme and contributing to the overall success of the event. Our first stop was the Gujarati stalls, where we were captivated by the vibrant colors and traditional clothing and food cuisine and intricate handicrafts. The Rajasthani stalls were equally mesmerizing, with their traditional attire and exquisite jewelry. We then ventured into the Thailand and Turkey stalls, which transported us to distant lands, offering a glimpse into their unique traditions and products.
Moving on, we explored the clothing stalls, where we were spoilt for choice with a wide array of winter collection. The Swiss Arabian stall caught our attention, offering a delightful range of perfumes and fragrances. However, our experience took a slight downturn when we tried the manchurian in the food section, which turned out to be of poor quality. The fried rice were undercooked, and the plate we paid ₹250 for was simply not worth it.
Undeterred by this setback, we proceeded to the science section, where we were introduced to the fascinating world of virtual reality. My brother and I eagerly tried out the VR system, immersing ourselves in thrilling games. The experience was truly remarkable, but the free service after realizing the hefty VR price tag of 40,000 INR made us appreciate the opportunity even more.
As we continued our exploration, we stumbled upon the business stalls sponsored by TATA, which showcased the company's achievements and contributions. We were impressed by their innovative ideas and commitment to excellence. Another stall that caught our attention was the idols stall, where we marveled at the intricately crafted murtis of Lord Vishnu, Lord Buddha, Lord Ganesh, and Lord Nataraj. The prices of these divine idols, including the Lord Vishnu murti priced at 1,50,000 INR, left us in awe of their artistic value.
Our journey through the fair took us to a hall where we encountered the G20 meeting 2023 banner, proudly displaying that the meeting had taken place at Pragati Maidan. This served as a reminder of the significance of the venue and the importance of such international events. We then witnessed the Madhya Pradesh Celebration in the amphitheater, where the state showcased its rich cultural heritage through dance and music performances.
The day concluded with a visit to Hari Darshan, where the event handlers had beautifully displayed murtis of Lord Ram, Lakshman, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman. The devotion and reverence in the atmosphere were palpable, and we felt a sense of tranquility and spirituality.
Overall, our visit to the 42nd India International Trade Fair was a memorable and enriching experience. We explored various halls, immersing ourselves in the diverse cultures and traditions of different states and countries. Despite the minor setback with the food, the fair provided us with a unique opportunity to learn, appreciate, and celebrate the beauty of our nation's diversity.
