Hi friends how are you? I hope everything goes well especially now that we are entering the Christmas period.
You know very well that I am an art lover and I also like to paint, so I also like to go and see some exhibitions from time to time that I think are very interesting.
In these days I went to see an important exhibition that is taking place at the Museum of Santa Caterina Treviso until January 15, 2023.
This exhibition is dedicated to the painter Paris Bordon, who was one of the most illustrious painters of the Venetian Renaissance and takes place right in his hometown, the city of Treviso.
I think it is very important to also know this type of painter who may perhaps be less famous than the Florentine Renaissance painters but who nonetheless have had an important history for Italian art.
I greatly appreciated the exhibition itinerary of this exhibition and I must say that whoever curated it did a meticulous job.
In fact this path is divided into 8 sections within this place, I really liked the initial part where he says that this painter practically went to the workshop of the famous painter Titian who had his workshop in the city of Venice.
And probably Tiziano had already noticed Paris Bordon's talent and did nothing but help him grow along his path.
Within this itinerary there are more than 35 works by the painter, which come from the major museums of the world including the Louvre in Paris and the national gallery in London but also from Italian museums such as the Uffizi galleries and the national art gallery in Siena. In short, here is the opportunity to immerse yourself in the art of Paris Bordon and in his works accomplished in several decades.
Pietro Aretino compared him in 1548 to the most famous Italian painter Raphael because he somewhat resembled this painter.
While Vasari in his famous book Vite described Bordon as the heir of Titian, he is the one who gave continuation to the famous painter.
Among other things, I also appreciated where this exhibition was held within this convent complex of Santa Caterina which is also part of the history of the city of Treviso.
