Hace varios años durante unas vacaciones en la isla de Margarita visite el museo marino quedando gratamente complacida por el lugar y la atención de sus trabajadores, guías educados, capacitados para atender personas de todo el mundo, hablan varios idiomas: francés, portugués, inglés y español. En esta publicación te mostrare parte del museo y mis fotos favoritas.
years ago during a vacation on Margarita Island, I visited the marine museum and was pleasantly pleased with the place and the attention of its workers, educated guides, trained to serve people from all over the world, they speak several languages: French, Portuguese, English, and Spanish. In this publication, I will show you part of the museum and my favorite pictures.
En la imagen se muestra la cola del esqueleto de ballena, y en su reseña dice: "Que es una ejemplar de 14.80 metros de longitud que se encontró muerto y varado junto a la isla de Cubagua en el año de 1994. Este esqueleto fue rescatado gracias al arduo y generoso esfuerzo de algunos obreros de la escuela de Ciencias Aplicadas del mar de la Universidad de Oriente en Venezuela".
The image shows the tail of the whale skeleton, and in its review it says: "It is a specimen of 14.80 meters long that was found dead and stranded next to the island of Cubagua in 1994. This skeleton was rescued thanks to the arduous and generous effort of some workers of the school of Applied Sciences of the sea of the Universidad de Oriente in Venezuela".
Traje de buzo de escafandra - Diving suit made of escafandra
Este es un auténtico traje de buzo de escafandra que se utilizaba en la pesca de perlas (piedras preciosas) de allí el apodo que tiene la isla como la perla del caribe. Es uno de los que se utilizaron entre 1902 y 1960, el traje era realizado en corcho y permitía que los soldados o buzos pudieran flotar y atravesar un curso de agua.
Con corcho o sin él, considero que el traje era bastante pesado porque el caso era construido con un metal pesado.
This is an authentic scuba diving suit that was used in pearl fishing (precious stones), hence the nickname of the island as the pearl of the Caribbean. It is one of those used between 1902 and 1960, the suit was made of cork and allowed soldiers or divers to float and cross a watercourse.
With or without cork, I consider that the suit was quite heavy because the case was built with heavy metal.
Datos del museo: la idea fue crear un museo fue concebida en el año de 1.960 por su fundador y actual presidente de la Fundación Museo del Mar es el Dr. Fernando Cervigón, biólogo Marino e Ictiólogo.
El Museo Marino fue inaugurado el día 19 de noviembre de 1994. Durante todos estos años el museo se ha consolidado como una de las opciones turísticas obligadas de la Isla de Margarita.

Museum facts: The idea of creating a museum was conceived in 1960 by its founder and current president of the Museum of the Sea Foundation, Dr. Fernando Cervigón, a marine biologist and ichthyologist.
The Marine Museum was inaugurated on November 19, 1994. During all these years the museum has become one of the must-see tourist options in Margarita Island.

Cubagua Nueva Cádiz la isla desaparecida de Margarita - Cubagua Nueva Cadiz the missing island of Margarita
Parte del museo marino muestra la historia y una espectacular maqueta de lo que se cree fue la isla desaparecida de Cubagua, esta existió según los registros históricos entre los años de 1516 y 1543. Nueva Cádiz fue la primera ciudad fundada en Venezuela y la primera ciudad española en Suramérica. Fue erigida antes del año 1500, después del tercer viaje de Colón y decidieron asentarse en ella por las riquezas escondida en el mar, LAS PERLAS
La desaparición de Cubagua fue un proceso lento debido fundamentalmente a la falta de agua potable, a la resistencia de los indios al trabajo extenuante de las pesquerías de perlas impuesta por los españoles, las visitas de los piratas franceses significaron una grave amenaza para la supervivencia de la ciudad siendo destruida totalmente en 1541 por un maremoto.
Part of the marine museum shows the history and a spectacular model of what is believed to be the disappeared island of Cubagua, which existed according to historical records between 1516 and 1543. Nueva Cadiz was the first city founded in Venezuela and the first Spanish city in South America. It was erected before the year 1500, after Columbus' third voyage and they decided to settle there because of the riches hidden in the sea, THE PEARLS.
The disappearance of Cubagua was a slow process mainly due to the lack of drinking water, the resistance of the Indians to the strenuous work of the pearl fisheries imposed by the Spaniards, the visits of French pirates meant a serious threat to the survival of the city is destroyed in 1541 by a tidal wave.

Yo soy de margarita, pero vivo muy lejos del museo y las pocas veces que fui fueron cuando yo estaba mas pequeño. Al ver tus imagen y leer tu publicación de verdad que me trajo muchos recuerdos
A veces estamos cerca de algunos lugares pero no tenemos oportunidad de conocerlos o de ir a visitarlos de nuevo.
Buenos a través de mi post ya regresaste y viste como estaba, porque eso fue hace años 🤭🙈🙊

Cuando era niño fui a visitar ese Museo con mi madre, era muy niño sin embargo aún conservo algunos buenos recuerdos de aquel entonces, no se como se encuentren esas instalaciones hoy en día.
Mi visita al museo fue hace años, en ese entonces estaba bonito me imagino que por tener tanta afluencia de extranjeros debe estar en buenas condiciones.
