Santarcangelo di Romagna is an Italian municipality and is part of the province of Rimini. It is located near the border with the province of Forlì-Cesena, so it is within the territory of the region Emilia-Romagna.

Santarcangelo has a characteristic territory that maintains a certain expressiveness of the old Romagna. It is easy here to find the ancient traditions of Romagna and the good food of this land.
Santarcangelo ha un territorio caratteristico che mantiene una certa espressività della vecchia Romagna. E’ facile qui trovare le antiche tradizioni romagnole ed il buon cibo di questa terra.
In Roman times in this territory passed the Via Aemilia that connected Ariminum with Placentia or connected the current Rimini with the current Piacenza.
In epoca romana in questo territorio passava la via Emilia che collegava Ariminum con Placentia ovvero collegava l’attuale Rimini con l’attuale Piacenza.
Walking through the alleys of the old town is very impressive, it seems to take a dip in the past.
Passeggiare tra i vicoli della città vecchia è molto suggestivo, sembra di fare un tuffo nel passato.

The big bell
In the historical center, inside the village of the old city, we find the campanone. A tower built right on the highest point of the city.

The village in the heart of the old city is really very beautiful. You can turn entirely on foot, and you can make a pleasant walk between climbs and descents, steps and houses set in the alleys, the village of Santarcangelo can be considered among the most interesting of all Romagna.
Il borgo nel cuore della città vecchia è davvero molto bello. Si può girare interamente a piedi, e si può fare una piacevole passeggiata tra salite e discese, gradini e abitazioni incastonate nei vialetti, Il borgo di Santarcangelo può essere considerato tra quelli più interessanti di tutta la Romagna.
At the top of the town is the Malatesta fortress. This castle was built in 1386 and is now a private residence.
Sulla cima del paese c’è la rocca malatestiana. Questo Castello è stato costruito nel 1386, oggi residenza privata.

The main point of the town is Piazza Ganganelli.
In this square rises the arch built in 1777 dedicated to Lorenzo Ganganelli that is Pope Clement XIV. Lorenzo Ganganelli was born in Santarcangelo di Romagna on October 31, 1705 and in 1769 he became pope.
Il punto principale del paese è Piazza Ganganelli.
In questa piazza sorge l'arco costruito nel 1777 dedicato a Lorenzo Ganganelli ovvero Papa Clemente XIV del 1777. Lorenzo Ganganelli nacque a Santarcangelo di Romagna il 31 ottobre 1705 e nel 1769 divenne papa.

Art in Santarcangelo is not lacking and can be seen everywhere and in various forms.
L’arte a Santarcangelo non manca e si vede in ogni dove e sotto varie forme.
