After I had my first child, my father-in-law used to recite the call to prayer in her ear.
I found it very interesting. Before I had my second child, I decided to do it myself.
I learned everything from Huzoor.
I was very excited.
My wife was taken to the hospital in the early hours of the morning.
I ran from the bathroom, did ablution, and walked in front of the hospital, mumbling and practicing the call to prayer.
In the meantime, my parents, mother, and father-in-law all arrived at the hospital.
My father-in-law came to me and said, “I forgot to bring my hat when I came in a hurry. Do you have a hat, father?”
I lied straight, “No, I don’t have a hat.”
Although I was walking around with a hat in my pocket.
He was busy and walked me to get a hat.
A little later, the nurse came and told me that I had a baby... I mumbled happily and practiced the call to prayer again.
The nurse said that now the baby will be kept in a glass room with other babies. You can see through the window but you can't go near it.
I'm looking for a chance to enter the glass room through some gap and give the call to prayer.
The room guard is very strict.
In a while, I even gave the room guard 200 taka.
As I was about to enter the room, I saw my father-in-law wearing a hat and coming towards me with his teeth clenched.
I whispered to the guard, 'I'll give you more money. Don't let any of us in now'.
The guard gave my father-in-law a stern scolding.
Meanwhile, news came that the mother of the daughter would now be taken to the cabin through the inner door from there. And the baby will stay in this nursery, I'll get to it later.
I told my father-in-law, 'Don't stay here, go to the room quickly, we'll take care of each daughter's daughter'
He went to the room with his teeth clenched.
I looked at the guard and said, ‘Let’s go in.’
As I entered, I felt like I had entered heaven. My legs were no longer moving.
Even then, I pressed my feet and went to my daughter’s ear, closed my eyes and recited the call to prayer.
That was a wonderful moment.
After reciting the call to prayer, I returned to the room triumphantly and saw my wife’s baby drinking milk.
I said, ‘Who is this?’
My father-in-law started to take off his hat and said, “Dad, tell me if you like your hat, my hat is finished.”
No one knows about my secret defeat to this day... or at least that guard does.
Because when I met him a little later, he told me, “Boss, there’s a complaint against you. You whispered something in the ear of some man’s child in the management. His parents saw it through the window. They’re looking for you. You know, you’re hiding, they’re coming.”
I immediately sat on the bench next to me, holding my hat over my face and pretending to sleep.
I stayed like this for 4 hours straight.
I was listening to the conversations around me; I heard my mother say, “Let the boy go home and sleep.” The gentleman was asking the guard, “Did you find the child trafficker? Where did you go?” The father-in-law said, “It’s time for the call to prayer, take the hat over my son-in-law’s face and go to prayer.” The mother-in-law said, “Ah, the boy’s eyes will be sunburned. He’s sleeping like this, so go and sleep.”
I bit the corner of the hat with my teeth and lay there, hunched over.
I was listening to the conversations around me.
After 4 hours, when there was no response from anywhere, I slowly removed the hat and saw the gentleman sitting in front of me.
I was wondering whether I should run or not.
He said, “Thank you, brother.”
I felt like I had fallen asleep.
I immediately fell asleep happily on that bench
Today is my daughter's birthday. Among the few people who have been invited this afternoon, there is the girl and her family in whose ears I mistakenly called the call to prayer.
