A Great Experience - The Old Fort, The Lake, and The Zoo-New Delhi

It delighted me when I saw $100 in my account to go for a day’s trip and immediately asked my wife, "We are going for a day’s trip on Sunday".

Sort:

At first, I was like whattttt????
You didn't take her for the movie
But you redeemed yourself by getting her that dress ;p

For reals though, $12 for a movie ticket? That's kinda expensive, is it not?

That Multiplex in Capital has apx $8-12 and tickets in three different categories. And did I tell you about coke and popcorn? Another $10 for 2 at least.
See I just tried to book a ticket. It's $15

That’s pretty expensive
Wait! Is this in Australia or India?
Did I just assume you were tripping in India

This is Definitely in India, New Delhi, I am still here but you never know when I knock your door on my way to Canberra. You know I will go via KL by MA on my next trip.Check the price, INR 750 for coke and popcorn and INR 1050 for a ticket. $1 is equal to INR 75

oh.
my.
gosh.

I was reading this and LAUGHING OUT LOUD at the looks your wife was giving you! hahahahahaha

you made the dialogue in this story SO funny Suny!!! I can really imagine all this happening but you made her smile with the dress and a beautiful dinner! I love that she is already looking forward to the next one!

but guess what? the money is not doubled.... its even MORE. so tell her to just wait for the delight hahahahahaha

the winning announcement will be tonight - be sure to check it out!

@dreemsteem Thank you for increasing our budget for the next trip. I will probably utilize that in my next trip because I am planning a visit to an ancient city with grand historical buildings about 60 km away from my present location.

This one is in the South and the one I am planning is in North East. The third will be in the North and the fourth is yet to be decided. I think by the time this six weeks program ends, I would have $1500 lesser in my account but we are enjoying it for sure :)

Thanks for such a nice opportunity which were hesitating take during all this troubled time.

A great entry for this challenge

Brought back memories of the times I spent there

And that’s great advice I used public transport to get around and tried many of the local restaurants

Thank you, I am glad I brought you memories back of your trips :)

the one part of your advise i didnt follow at the times was the choice of hotels, our office had a special rate at a big hotel, I cant remember which one at the moment, but I used to stay there

You were a corporate traveler so you could take advantage of that facility but for normal visitors on a budget that come to this part of the world for spending three months on their one month's savings, these hotels are good starting at $6-7 a day. If you stay at hostels I mentioned that will be $2-3 only. Good hotels' tariff starts from $60-70 onwards.

So very true, when I travelled to some other cities on vacation there, I went with cheaper options, many of my colleagues always stayed in fancy hotels and stayed inthe popular tourists spots, I myself when I visit a place I like to see the real cuty and go where the locals go and experience what life is like for them and not for tourists

Same here, we always prefer a medium range hotel or guesthouse in the center of the city so we could feel and see the real life of the place we visited. However, it's different while my wife is with me :)

Ohh yes the same for me my wife likes a bit more styles

Loved it @sunnyag ...and the best part...the cheeky parting shot lols $4 ccary over to next week. Genius! !PIZZA

I am glad you liked my visit. Looking forward to read your experience of this week's visit.

Hahah.... This is indeed how it has to be when you are traveling alongside a Veteran. At the Initial stage, I said to myself "things are really cheap here" lol.

You were squeezing out pennies until you paid $10 for food and gave $1 as tip 😋. That part gave me joy. Hehe.

The funny thing is that I'm quite sure that you've visited all these places. Nice one @sunnyag

Got to your post through @dreemport

We really did, we did visit every place and intend to visit another for next week that I have in my mind and within the specified budget. My pics are witnesses of my visit, ain't they? 😁 $10 was at one of the cheapest place to eat

Hahaha... I'm already laughing out loud 😂.

$10 for two is pretty big here, but there are places where you can't get a good serving at $10 for one person in this country 😂

It all shows that we all live according to our budget. Hehe.

Well Done

Trust me a medium eatery in the capital would cost at least $25 to 30 for a lunch or dinner without drinks.

what a wonderful day you and your wife had. I loved reading about your day trip!!

Thank you for that!

Thanks for your kind words :) Yes, we enjoyed our trip!

you are very welcome!

Thanks for the pizza, I love it.
