Hello everybody! This time I will tell you about another route through the French Pyrenees, through the mythical passes where the Tour de France cycling tour takes place. Another route accompanied by my faithful biker friends who have given me permission to take some photos. This time there were quite a few of us, as it is a very nice and long route to enjoy all day long.
Hola a todos! Esta vez os contare otra ruta por el pirineo francés, a través de los puertos míticos donde se hace el tour ciclista de Francia. Otra ruta acompañado de mis fieles amigos moteros que me han dado el permiso para salir en alguna foto que otra. Esta vez nos juntamos bastantes, ya que es una ruta muy bonita y algo larga para disfrutar durante todo el día.
As most of the time I will act as route captain, at some points I will go ahead and record the passage of my companions.
Como la mayoría de las veces hare de capitán de ruta, en algunos momentos me adelanto y gravo el paso de mis compañeros.

This time it was about 600km, we started from Zaragoza (Spain), without haste but without pause we had to get to the border to cross the Bielsa tunnel which is about 3km long, our first pass will be Hourquette d'Ancizan of 1564meter altitude, the road is quite narrow and with parts of gravel.
Esta vez eran unos 600km, partíamos desde Zaragoza(España), sin prisa pero sin pausa teníamos que llegar hasta la frontera para atravesar el túnel de Bielsa que tiene unos 3km de largo, nuestro primer puerto será Hourquette d´Ancizan de 1564metro de altitud, la carretera es bastante estrecha y con partes de gravilla.
In this area there was a very friendly donkey who came to greet us, animals and cyclists abounded in the area.
En esta zona había un burro muy simpático que se acercó a saludarnos, los animales y ciclistas abundaban por la zona.

The next pass is one of the best known, the col du Tourmalet with an altitude of 2115m, it is very busy and the bikers and cyclists are grouped here, so many that on each side of the pass there are photography companies that take photos and sell them to you later on their website. There is also a bar to enjoy the views and they are currently renovating the area to make a new building.
El siguiente puerto es el de los mas conocidos, el col du Tourmalet con 2115m de altitud, es muy concurrido y los moteros junto a los ciclistas se agrupan aquí, tantos hay que en cada lado del puerto hay empresas de fotografía que te hacen fotos y te las venden a posteriori en su pagina web. También tiene bar para disfrutar de las vistas y actualmente están reformando la zona para hacer un nuevo edificio.
We continued on to the Col du Soulor at an altitude of 1474m, where we stopped to eat our respective sandwiches, sharing a great time while we talked about the scenery and the route in general. The good thing is that this pass also has a bar and is ideal to go to the toilet and have a coffee.
Proseguimos hacia el Col du Soulor con 1474m de altitud, en este puerto paramos a comernos nuestro respectivo bocadillo, compartiendo un gran momento mientras hablábamos de los paisajes y de la ruta en general. Lo bueno que este puerto también tiene bar y es ideal para ir al baño y tomar un café.
We only had two passes left so we went to the penultimate of the most curious, this pass is called Col d'Aubisque with an altitude of 1709m. Here the curious thing is that there are some giant bicycles, where everyone can take pictures. I love to come here and those who come for the first time are amazed by it.
Ya solo nos quedaban dos puertos así que vamos para el penúltimo de los mas curiosos, este puerto se llama Col d´Aubisque con 1709m de altitud. Aquí lo curioso es que existen unas bicicletas gigantes, donde todo el mundo para hacerse fotos. Me encanta venir aquí y los que vienen por primera vez son asombrados por ello.
The scenery around us was breathtaking, as you can see, and being summer at this altitude, the good temperature is very welcome.
El paisaje que nos rodeaba como veis es impresionante, y siendo verano a esta altitud se agradece la buena temperatura que hace.
Coming down this pass there were many cows in the middle of the road and an impressive road on the edge of a ravine, people with a fear of heights had a hard time driving here, but I enjoyed the magnificent views.
Bajando este puerto habían muchas vacas en mitad del camino y una impresionante carretera al borde de un barranco, la gente con miedo a las alturas lo pasaba mal conduciendo por este sitio, pero yo disfrute con tan magnificas vistas.
Already on the way to our last pass, I felt sad because this great adventure was coming to an end, although our tired bodies felt more relieved because we had little left, we were heading towards the Col de Portalet with 1794m that makes the border with Spain. Here, as always, we stopped to refuel before heading home and have a bite to eat.
Ya de camino a nuestro ultimo puerto, me sentía triste porque ya se iba acabando esta gran aventura, aunque nuestros cansados cuerpos se sentían mas aliviados porque ya nos quedaba poco, nos dirigíamos hacia el Col de Portalet con 1794m que hace frontera con España. Aquí como siempre paramos a repostar gasolina antes de partir hacia casa y picar algo.
We only had to leave for home, we had about 200km to go, the hardest because they are the last ones, but with these great companions on the road everything becomes much easier.
Solo nos quedaba partir hacia casa, nos quedaban ya cerca de 200km los mas duros porque son los últimos, pero con estos grandes compañeros de ruta todo se hace mucho mas fácil.

Those giant bicycles are truly amazing and very beautiful!
They somehow remind me of the monuments to dead cyclists that the mountains of Spain are full of. But I hope this one here was not placed for such an occasion.

Muchas gracias @elizpc !! sí la carretera es un poco angosta y cometer un error conduciendo puede ser un auténtico game over, pero merece la pena arriesgarse y conducir con cuidado, es una gran experiencia 😋

¿Cuántas horas fueron en total? Debe estar bien pero tambien ser una paliza.
12 horillas más o menos pero siempre se alarga según los contratiempos que puedan surgir 🤣🤣🤣, ojalá hubiera coincidido con las llamas que de vez en cuando las sueltan por el tourmalet
