The Dinosaur Route
Ruta de los Dinosaurios
Hello! Today it's time to remember an excursion I did in the summer of 2019, the famous route of the Dinosaurs! This route is located in the area of Enciso (La Rioja/Spain), a group of villages where we can find both fossils, fossilized footprints and even a fossilized tree, and what is most impressive are the figures of dinosaurs represented in real size as they were once these great creatures.
Buenas!! Hoy toca recordar una excursión que hice en verano del año 2019, la famosa ruta de los Dinosaurios!! Esta ruta se localiza en la Zona de Enciso(La Rioja/España), un conjunto de pueblos donde podemos hallar tanto fósiles, huellas fosilizadas y hasta un árbol fosilizado, y lo que mas impresiona que son las figuras de dinosaurios representadas a tamaño real de como eran antaño estas grandiosas criaturas.
We start the route and after a few kilometres on the bike we stop for a snack, this time it's torreznos, we could say that it is a pork bacon cut into thick strips, first they are prepared in the oven and then fried in oil, then the outer layer which is the pork skin becomes a delicious crunchy combined with the juiciness of the meat. This product is from the area of Soria but can be found in the surrounding provinces.
Empezamos la ruta y al llevar unos cuantos kilómetros en moto paramos a picotear un poco, esta vez tocan torreznos, podríamos decir que es una panceta de cerdo cortada en tiras gruesas, primero se preparan en el horno y luego se fríen en aceite, entonces la capa de fuera que es la piel de cerdo se convierte en un crujiente delicioso combinado con la jugosidad de la carne. este producto de la zona de Soria pero se puede encontrar en las provincias colindantes.
We came across the first dinosaur, which for me was the ugliest, it looked like a cartoon, in this publication I am not going to say which species each one belongs to because I have no idea nor do I remember its name, but if you like dinosaurs you will easily recognise them by their shapes.
Nos encontramos con el primer dinosaurio, que para mi era el mas feo, parecía de dibujo animado, en esta publicación no voy a decir a que especie pertenece cada uno porque no tengo ni idea ni recuerdo su nombre, pero al que le gusten mucho los dinosaurios los reconocerán fácilmente por sus formas.
We arrive at the site of Los Cayos, here we find a large number of fossilised dinosaur footprints on the mountainside, the path runs along a narrow path and part of the footprints are protected by a roof for their preservation, at all times there are informative signs that explain everything, so if you go through the area you can discover everything for yourselves.
Llegamos al yacimiento de Los Cayos, aquí nos encontramos con un gran numero de huellas fosilizadas de dinosaurios en la ladera de la montaña, transcurre el camino por una estrecha senda y una parte de las huellas están protegidas por un tejado para su conservación, en todo momento hay carteles informativos que nos explican todo, así que si vais por la zona podréis descubrir todo por vosotros mismos.
Now we come to the dinosaur that I liked the most, the famous cuellilargo, to get to it I had to climb a slope of earth and rocks that was a bit dangerous for the bike, especially when going down to get back to the road. This great figure is also represented next to a prehistoric tree, the height of the dinosaur is impressive, I felt small next to him and I am 1'98 metres tall.
Nos toca ahora el dinosaurio que mas me gustó, el famoso cuellilargo, para llegar hasta el tuve que subir una pendiente de tierra y rocas algo peligrosa para la moto sobre todo al bajarla después para volver a la carretera. Esta gran figura esta representada junto a un árbol prehistórico también, impresiona la altura del dinosaurio, me sentía pequeño junto a el y eso que mido 1´98 metros.
In this part we found a couple of impressive figures, I can't imagine what it would be like to see these fantastic animals in motion, I'm sure the ground shook before we saw them. In all this area there are many dinosaurs and if you have time you can find them all, it is a fantastic activity to enjoy with family or friends but I recommend that it is not a day with 40 degrees like the one I went because it is quite exhausting because from where you leave the vehicle you have to walk although there are also hiking areas for the more athletic.
En esta parte nos encontramos con un par de impresionantes figuras, no me imagino como seria ver a estos fantásticos animales en movimiento, seguro que temblaba el suelo antes de divisarlos. En toda esta zona hay muchos dinosaurios y si tienes tiempo puedes lograr encontrarlos a todos, es una actividad fantástica para disfrutar con familia o amigos pero os recomiendo que no sea un día con 40 grados como el que yo fui porque es bastante agotador ya que desde donde dejas el vehículo hay que andar aunque también hay zonas de senderismo para los mas deportistas.
In Arnedo we found a façade painted like the famous Moe's bar from the Simpsons, it made me laugh and I imitated the posture of the famous Moe.
En Arnedo nos encontramos una fachada pintada como el famoso bar de Moe de los Simpsons, me hizo gracia e imite la postura al famoso Moe.
In Autol there are some peculiar rock formations, when I got there and saw them I found them very curious, what the erosion of water and wind can do. Once we finished it was time to go back to the city where I live to rest after this long day.
En Autol hay unas formaciones rocosas un tanto peculiares, cuando llegue allí y las vi me parecieron muy curiosas, lo que puede llegar a hacer la erosión del agua y del viento. Ya terminando tocó volver a la ciudad donde resido para poder descansar de este gran largo dia.
