Swimming in the cold mountain waters, Hiking with gorgeous views or rent an electric boat, Achensee has it all
Since my boyfriend was working in the Austrian mountains, I had a good reason to get a little holiday from my farmjob in Holland. I took a plane to Munich and from there a Flixbus to Innsbruck where Samuel picked me up. Flixbus is a really great, affordable bus company. And it's a lot greener than flying! Sadly they had limited trips due to Corona so I still had to fly to Munich.
Arrived in Austria, we decided to go to Austrias largest and most famous lake, Achen see. See is the German word for lake. So usually people call it lake Achen in English.
Once we where at the lake, I was truely surprised by the size of the lake, it was so long! The blue color of the water made it tempting to jump in already. Hollands lakes are all so dirty and brown, but this one was way more blue and gorgeous.
We decided to rent an electric boat so the next hours we could explore the views from the water, enjoy the sun and just relax. Wish I could spend all my days like that!
Meet my boyfriend and Boatmen
The staff of the rental quickly explained how to drive the boat, but it was super easy. Im sure even an 8 years old could do it. So we drove to the middle of the lake, chilled and all stress free.
Enjoying the summer vibes
We had a drink on the water, our daily dose of Vitamine D and a true holiday feeling. The water has something that brings peace in humans souls.
I hope my boyfriend considers himself lucky with someone who knows how to make sharp shots
The blue green lake between the tall mountains
After enjoying the sun and a swim, we went up to the mountains for a good hike, my favorite part for the pictures! I don't know why but mountains are really my favorite subject to photograph. But this time was different, I saw so many interesting subjects to photograph which took some of my attention away from the mountains. I lived it!

We passed by plenty of little flowers and butterflies. I felt the nature around me, the forest being alive, the smell of the pinetrees. Absolutely wonderful!
