My favorite quote!!! Blogging challenge day 3!!

I trust we all are doing wonderful. We know We are blessed with different body parts, including, head, nose, lips, eyes, tongue, etc. Each of these parts has its specifications. We use our eyes to see this world, our nose to sense and breathe, and our tongue to speak.

Our tongue is more likely a weapon. It's harsher than the sword and fluffy without a bone.

A common and my favorite quote is,

"A fool cannot hold his tongue."

Plutarch

Why this quote is my favorite. Let me prove with references.

A fool can't hold his tongue. This clearly states that it's our tongue that makes us wise and fools. If you utter words worth speaking, you will be impacted positively. Likewise, a senseless phrase can cause you to stumble in someone's orifices forever.

There are a lot of things Things we need to consider while we start speaking, or in between our speech.

Have you ever wondered, why these motivational speakers are so prominent these days? Why we spend so much money to listen to them at conferences. Aren't we grown up enough to motivate ourselves on our own?

This is something we always seek from others. We want effortless work, we are lazy, we incite ourselves insufficiently. These speakers are professional and always use the combination of words we want to hear. This is what is called the right use of the tongue.

This morning one of my friends and team member, @Hillary Powers wrote something about anger. How one person lost his career because of the bitterness of his words. He (the writer) concluded in these words,

"Learn to condone harsh words. In your moments of anger, do your possible best to not react whether in words or actions".

Hillary Powers

Words are words, but their intonations and our behaviors make them different to the recipient. We may only utter them once, and yet they will forever influence, either positive and negative. We are remembered on the footing of our tongue. Kind and soft words make the heart melt for us.

For example, some days ago, when we were occupied by COVID 2019, it was time to prove our identity. Some of us were depressive, and others got the best out of it. A lady from our tribe suffered seriously because of this pandemic. She came to us. Fortunately, I was at home that day. I consoled her and told her the optimistic approach to these tough times. We had a wonderful conversation and when she was about to leave she confessed.

"THANK YOU MAHNOOR, NO ONE HAS TOLD ME ALL THIS, EVERYONE WAS JUST POURING OUT PESSIMISM ON ME AND I WAS THINKING TO END MY LIFE. YOUr WORDS HAVE GIVEN ME A NEW WAVE OF LIFE."

A positive impact of our words. I must state if you don't want to be called a fool, hold your tongue.

There is a proverb in my mother tongue.

"It's your tongue which will pull you up and will cause you to fall deeply".

So choose yours.

Don't let your tongue make decisions for you. Decide on your own. Speak less speak worthily. It will help you to make more friends. Because when you communicate accurately you attract more people towards you. Also sometimes it's better to stay silent to save our relations.

Sometimes, it might be best to not say anything at all. I was always told that if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything.

As Benjamin Franklin said,

“Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but it's more difficult to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.”

YOUR WORDS HAS IMPACT, SO THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK

Be sensible.

Spread love and respect. Thank you for having eyes on my post.

Wonderful write up @mahnoor1. It is true that the tongue is the sharpest sword that portrays itself as a sense organ. It is dangerous to use it harshly on people as it can mar our relationships or lower the next person's self esteem. We ought to use our tongue to heal and not wound. I love this quote!
