I hope you are all having a humour-filled and awesome week. It has been a really busy and tiring week over here. What better way to commence the weekend than with stories of humour.

Espero que estéis teniendo una semana llena de humor e increíble. Ha sido una semana muy ajetreada y agotadora por aquí. Qué mejor manera de empezar el fin de semana que con historias de humor.
So for this week’s contest, here is my entry.
Así que para el concurso de esta semana, aquí está mi entrada.

Growing up, I like to think of myself as a weird child. I am the last born in my family and most times I had no playmate, so I played on my own. My dad bought a few chickens to start a small farm. It was one of the highlights of my childhood memories because these chickens became part of my life and family. They became my pets.
Al crecer, me gusta pensar que soy un niño raro. Soy la última nacida en mi familia y la mayoría de las veces no tenía ningún compañero de juegos, así que jugaba sola. Mi padre compró unas cuantas gallinas para montar una pequeña granja. Fue uno de los mejores recuerdos de mi infancia porque esas gallinas pasaron a formar parte de mi vida y de mi familia. Se convirtieron en mis mascotas.
I gave each and every one of them a name. With each procreation, they grew in number, and soon enough my chickens and I had a code song to signal them when it was time for food. I would clean them up, run around with them, swing with them, protect the chicks from being harmed by hawks, and make sure they were medicated when sick. They were my kids.
Les puse un nombre a todas y cada una de ellas. Con cada procreación, crecían en número, y muy pronto mis gallinas y yo teníamos una canción en clave para indicarles cuándo era la hora de comer. Los limpiaba, corría con ellos, me columpiaba con ellos, protegía a los polluelos de los daños de los halcones y me aseguraba de que estuvieran medicados cuando estaban enfermos. Eran mis hijos.
My chickens are like other chickens in the sense that, they are run away from unfamiliar humans. However, there was this particular chicken that did the reverse. The chicken was actually quite aggressive even towards humans. It was one of those males that liked to exact dominance in the chicken kingdom. For some reason, the other cocks would let him have his way.
Mis pollos son como otros pollos en el sentido de que, huyen de los humanos desconocidos. Sin embargo, había una gallina en particular que hacía lo contrario. El pollo era realmente bastante agresivo incluso con los humanos. Era uno de esos machos a los que les gustaba imponer su dominio en el reino de las gallinas. On this fine day, a friend of mine came to visit. She had already asked beforehand if I had dogs and I confirmed with a No. She was pretty scared of dogs. So she made sure to always ask before visiting anyone’s house.
Ese día, una amiga mía vino a visitarme. Ya había preguntado de antemano si tenía perros y le confirmé con un no. Así que se aseguró de preguntar siempre antes de visitar la casa de alguien.
As she arrived, the gateman opened the gate and the next thing that particular male chicken ran toward her. For a second she did not realize that the chicken was heading for her but as it drew closer she clocked that reality and took to her heels.
Cuando llegó, el portero abrió la puerta y lo siguiente que hizo aquel particular pollo macho fue correr hacia ella. Por un segundo no se dio cuenta de que el pollo se dirigía hacia ella, pero a medida que se acercaba se dio cuenta de la realidad y se puso en marcha.
Apparently, the chicken chased after her till she ran into my house and banged the door in its face. She kept panting like a dog had chased after her while she ran for her dear life. I could not contain my laughter and I burst into it with tears in my eyes. The more I looked at her eyes and how she looked like she just had a close shave with death, the more I laughed.
Al parecer, la gallina la persiguió hasta que entró en mi casa y le golpeó la puerta en la cara. No paraba de jadear como si un perro la hubiera perseguido mientras corría por su vida. No pude contener la risa y estallé con lágrimas en los ojos. Cuanto más miraba sus ojos y cómo parecía que acababa de tener un acercamiento con la muerte, más me reía.
To this day, I still tease her about the moment she allowed a chicken to chase her and she ran for her dear life. I am really grateful for those times. I reminisce on those memories and they were some really good old days.
A día de hoy, todavía me burlo de ella por el momento en que permitió que una gallina la persiguiera y corrió por su vida. Estoy muy agradecida por esos momentos. Rememoro esos recuerdos y fueron unos días realmente buenos.

Hahaha... This is quite funny. I can relate tho. What scares me most when I am being chased by a chicken is the fear of it scratching my face.
I don’t know how true that is, but I’ve believed it from childhood and I’ve been more careful. Lol 😆

Indeed, this is a valid fear especially with the female hens when they just newly hatch their chicks.
But the males are not supposed to be violent.

Have you ever had an experience with a chicken chase before?
Yeah! It was the female hen. I was just passing on my own ooo unknowingly to me that it just hatch chicks and were around her.
God...😂😂😂 that day ehn, I ran like I was being chased by wild animal. Since then I’ve always been scared of them. That was my first and last experience of being chased by chicken.
It was scary and funny at the same time🤣
I find this so funny.
Even I who have had close contact with them as pets, when it comes to the hen and her newly hatched chicks, Omo I take to my heels ohhh, when I am around them.
Those hens have a new level of aggression and they don't play with those day old chicks.

Chickens can be mean. That's why I like eating them.

Funny enough, he was and sometimes I think about it and wonder why.😅😅😅
I guess he associated me with the person that provided food for him so he sort of avoided me until it was time for food, then he would come around when I drop grains for all the chickens and bully as many that he could.

That chicken was really wild 😑😑
Eventually the chicken was killed.
It attacked my niece and almost blinded her when she was 2years old and it was at that point we said, that’s it.
