What I see beyond the image
I love this photo because it perfectly captures the essence of Canadian autumn. It shows a super cute black and white kitten, lost among a pile of branches and dry leaves in those typical reddish and orange hues of the season. But the best part is its face: it looks so peaceful, with those big amber eyes, as it nibbles at the tip of a red leaf. It's as if it's tasting autumn itself.
What the Image Makes Me Feel
Seeing this photo touches me deeply; it's pure tenderness. There's something about the kitten's fragility amidst the landscape that awakens that instinctive desire to care for it. Furthermore, the light and those warm colors convey an incredible, almost nostalgic, peace. It makes me think of that innocent curiosity we had as children, which we forget with the daily grind. It's an image that truly warms my heart and relaxes me.
The Anecdote Behind It All
Oliver's first autumn.
Oliver had no idea what colorful autumn was. Being so small, he only knew what was safe: his bed and his food bowl. But he saw the back door ajar and went out to investigate.
The cold immediately made his black and white fur stand on end. Outside, everything had changed: instead of green grass, there was a carpet of leaves that crunched underfoot. Oliver trudged forward, sinking a little, occasionally jumping at the dry sound of the leaves.

He reached some stacked logs and climbed with effort to the top. There he found a red maple leaf. Instead of attacking it like a toy, he stopped abruptly. He brought his nose close, smelled the dampness of the earth, and carefully placed his paw on it. He barely nipped at the edge.
I stood watching him from afar, holding my breath. Seeing him like that, with those golden eyes reflecting the light, was unique. He didn't know I was watching him, of course. For Oliver, only that instant existed: him, the leaf, and the wind welcoming him.

A warmth feeling indeed
Nothing smells (and tastes) as good as Autumn. The little one will collect a lot of experience and for sure sleep well once back inside
