The dragon turtle's cousin "Trogdorr" is an homage to homestarrunner.com and their classic Trogdor the Dragon video from Strong Bad email #58 (Dragon). And yes, Trogdorr is the same cousin Magnus the Magnificent was referring to in Nerd By Northwest #199. So yes, I'm thinking this 'Trogdorr' story line is becoming too much fun to NOT turn into an ongoing thing... 😁

I actually went back and read all your strips the other day.
I try to make them entertaining on a stand-alone level, but the backstory and long story arcs make having read the previous ones required to get the full appreciation. Heck, I think Aerissi the Air Cult leader here was captured almost ten strips (or five weeks) ago. And you have to go WAY back to find out why there's a talking headcrab in the office... 😏
