Yet again, we see that you just can't take Brentwick anywhere. If he's not getting stomped by an efreet, smacked across the room by a giant elemental, or being clobbered in by a battering ram, he's getting walloped by a bardic enchantment that wasn't even aimed at him. Normally that's not possible in the D&D game... but when you've got tapioca pudding for brains like Brentwick, all kinds of fail are possible!

As to Dann's bardic rhyme, I realize it's not going to take a place alongside the works of Paul Simon or Bob Dylan. Heck, it's mediocre on a level that makes Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy" seem like a masterpiece by comparison. But in my defense, I'll just paraphrase Bones McCoy...

"Dammit Jim! I'm a cartoonist, not a songwriter!!!" 😁

How very Bardic. I'm wondering if that's why I kept falling asleep when we were reading Shakespeare in school.

Don't be giving RSF publicity. They are pretty dodgy politically. 😉

Can you sing enemies to sleep in the actual game?

Bards can... their spells are cast by singing and playing music, instead of chanting nonsense words and wiggling their hands around like wizards. In this case, it was a Mass Suggestion spell, allowing one to suggest a (halfway reasonable) course of action to the victims. So he couldn't tell the giants to fight each other to the death, but suggesting they forget what they saw and take a nap is perfectly kosher.

Hadn't heard anything about Right Said Fred recently about... well... anything LOL 😉. I just used them as an example of a weirdly popular yet mediocre-written song. Had to look the controversy up; seems they're not fans of the mask & lockdown & jab mandates (which IMO is understandable), but they made the mistake of linking to an anti-mask, anti-jab mandate rant done by a guy who turned out to be a neo-Nazi of sorts. Given they retracted it I'm gonna go with Hanlon's razor and guess it was a dumb but honest mistake, but still there's a lesson there that you gotta be careful these days what links you promote! 😳

You are my guru on all things D&D.

There's a lot of 'celebrities' trading off their moment of fame. These days anyone can have a platform if enough people follow their socials.
