The upside of mooning one's enemy to taunt them? It's certainly more effective than going "boogah-boogah!". The downside? If you're not quick enough on the recovery, you get an arrow in the butt like that poor schmuck in the battle scene in the movie "Braveheart". But hey, small price to pay for mocking your enemy!!!
Anyway, now our heroes' plan to take out the last of the hill giants and his dungeon-dwelling minions is about to finally kick off. One might think that the adventurers, even very low on spells and weaponry, could take out even an extra-tough hill giant and some bugbears without going through the trouble of all this scheming and traps and such. That's probably true... but over-complicated battle plans and schemes are part and parcel of just every D&D adventuring group ever created. It's like Rule of Adventuring #24 says: "Hours spent conceiving & implementing even the most complicated, painstaking ambush plan is always better than the risk of taking a spiked club to the testicles." 😁
