Because a "Guardians of the Galaxy 3" theme was gonna take too much damn time to draw...
Nerd By Northwest #334 – “Halloween 2023”

I actually hadn't seen many new movies in 2023, and since I already did Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves earlier this year, the Halloween theme this year was down to Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Super Mario Bros. A Guardians of the Galaxy 3 theme would have been cool, but the idea of trying to draw a Rocket Racoon costume for Roscoe was honestly too intimidating. But a mushroom-shaped Goomba? WAY easier...
I was originally going to have Cam dressed as Donkey Kong, but I thought about Bowzer's "Peaches" song and decided to go that route instead. Obviously, that last bit with Cam/Bowser singing only makes sense if you've seen the movie. So for those of you poor souls who haven't, here's the 'Peaches' song by Bowzer:

I've not seen the movie, although it was running on an open air screen when we were in Boston.
I was wondering if it would be this one
or even this (great bassline)
Never heard the second one, but as a child of the 80's & 90's I can recognize the first one in my sleep! I remember having a manager a long time ago who'd hum that song all the time, which guaranteed that earworm would inevitably spread to the rest of us... 😏
The Stranglers had some great songs. They may have been before your time. A lot of my music references come from the 70s.
!BEER
Yeah I'm a late Gen-X'er so was too young to really remember the 70's or the music. Though that Stranglers video and the cars & clothes in it sure did remind me a lot of all the 70's era movies & TV shows I watched on cable TV as a kid!

I like the super Mario Bros better. Its classic.
Can't go wrong with classics.
Yeah, I agree. Not only a fun movie, but definitely brought back a lot of nostalgia for us in the Nintendo generation as well...
