Маріуполь - місто в Донецькій області. Після захоплення орками обласного центру це найбільший населений пункт Донбасу. Знаходиться на березі Азовського моря і є серйозним промисловим центром. Відомий з 16 століття, був центром розселення греків Приазов'я.
Mariupol is a city in the Donetsk region. After the orcs captured the regional center, it is the largest settlement in Donbass. It is located on the shores of the Sea of Azov and is a major industrial center. Known since the 16th century, was the center of settlement of the Greeks of the Azov region.
Місто само по собі досить велике, в ньому проживає близько півмільйона жителів. У промисловому відношенні тут домінує звичайно металургія: металургійний комбінат імені Ілліча та «Азовсталь». Більшість людей що мешкає тут, так чи інакше пов'язані з цими величезними підприємствами.
The city itself is quite large, it has about half a million inhabitants. In industrial terms, metallurgy usually dominates here: the Ilyich Metallurgical Plant and Azovstal. Most of the people who live here are somehow connected to these huge businesses.
Два заводи нібито охоплюють місто з двох боків, а сам населений пункт знаходиться в низині, балці. Від цього екологічна ситуація в Маріуполі тривожна, хоча люди до цього звикли.
Two factories allegedly cover the city from two sides, and the settlement itself is in the lowlands, Balka. As a result, the environmental situation in Mariupol is alarming, although people are used to it.

Не варто забувати, що Маріуполь також і морський порт. В межах міста ми не купалися, але в околицях знаходиться безліч пляжів куди виїжджають місцеві жителі. Про це буду писати в наступних постах.
We should not forget that Mariupol is also a seaport. We did not swim within the city, but in the vicinity there are many beaches where locals go. I will write about this in the following posts.
Останнім часом, Маріуполь - прифронтове місто, в 2015 році навіть потрапляв під серйозний обстріл бандами так званої донецької народної республіки, в результаті чого загинула 31 людина.

Зараз місто надійно утримується силами ЗСУ, життя в ньому, на відміну від окупованого Донецька кипить. У 2018 році, наприклад, в Маріуполі проходив фестиваль Гогольfest, який переїхав сюди з Києва.
