Hello to all fans of art and handicrafts! I want to share with you of works by Ukrainian artist Olga Pilyuhina. She creates modern author's tapestries and handmade carpets. Yesterday I visited an exhibition of her art works in Kyiv.

Після двох тижнів зимових канікул мій перший робочий день розпочався із відвідування виставки «Роздуми. Гобелени Ольги Пелюгіної». Ця виставка проходила в Музеї історії Києва, на експозиції якої було представлено 46 авторських робіт: сучасні гобелени та килими ручної роботи української майстрині Ольги Пілюгіної.
At the heart of many Olga Pilyuhina's works you can see the eternal symbol of the genus 'The Tree of Life' which grows from the depths of the ages to the present. It is a connection of generations, past, present and future, and also artist's love for traditions and native culture.
The tapestry 'Spring song', 2016 (125x133, wool, hand weaving)
This exhibition made a special impression on me. Olga Pilyuhina creates tapestries in the ancient smooth hand-weaving technique. The reverse side of her tapestries is as perfect as the front. I consider this as a sign of the artist's extraordinary skill. You can see many traditional elements of Ukrainian carpet weaving in her works. For example, this is the world of wild flora and fauna, including images of different animals and birds. They're so amazing! In addition to the images of birds that represent the human soul, the artist often refers to the images of horses which symbolizes freedom.

Попри свій молодий вік Ольга Пілюгіна — вже знана в мистецьких колах талановита художниця, роботи якої представлені в провідних музеях, галереях, приватних колекціях, дипломатичних представництвах та культурних центрах не лише в Україні, а й за кордоном.
The tapestries 'A dreem-grass', 2021 (wool, smooth hand weaving)
I suggest you look at the works of the artist that impressed me the most. These are both monumental carpets and compact tapestries which based on ornamentation. They all impress with their themes, color palette and texture. In my personal opinion these are the best works of Olga Pilyuhina of all that I have seen.

Хочу поділитися з вами тими роботами авторки, які справили на мене найбільше враження. Це і монументальні полотна килимів, і більш компактні гобелені, які базуються на орнаментиці. Усі вони вражають своєю тематикою, образами, палітрою кольорів і фактурністю. В роботах Ольги Пілюгіної можна відстежити чимало традиційних елементів, характерних для українського килимарства. Зокрема, це орнаментальний світ дикої флори і фауни, включаючи тварин і птахів. Вони такі дивовижні!
Olga Pilyuhina's handmade carpets and tapestries are presented in leading museums, galleries, private collections, diplomatic missions and cultural centers not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
